27 But some worthless fellows said, “How can this man save us?” And they despised him and brought him no present. But he held his peace. (De 13:13; 1Sa 2:12) 

New International Version

27 But some scoundrels said, ‘How can this fellow save us?’ They despised him and brought him no gifts. But Saul kept silent. 

New International Reader’s Version

27 But some people who wanted to stir up trouble said, ‘How can this fellow save us?’ They looked down on him. They didn’t bring him any gifts. But Saul kept quiet about it. 

King James Version

27 But the children of Belial said, How shall this man save us? And they despised him, and brought him no presents. But he held his peace.
