5 then I will establish your royal throne over Israel forever, as I promised David your father, saying, ‘You shall not lack a man on the throne of Israel.’ (1Ki 2:4; 1Ki 6:12; 1Ch 22:10) 

New International Version

5 I will establish your royal throne over Israel for ever, as I promised David your father when I said, “You shall never fail to have a successor on the throne of Israel.” 

New International Reader’s Version

5 Then I will set up your royal throne over Israel for ever. I promised your father David I would do that. I said to him, “You will always have a son from your family line on the throne of Israel.” 

King James Version

5 Then I will establish the throne of thy kingdom upon Israel for ever, as I promised to David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man upon the throne of Israel.
