English Standard Version

2 The people were sacrificing at the high places, however, because no house had yet been built for the name of the Lord. (De 12:2; 1Ki 22:43) 

New International Version

2 The people, however, were still sacrificing at the high places, because a temple had not yet been built for the Name of the Lord. 

New International Reader’s Version

2 But the people continued to offer sacrifices at the high places where they worshipped. That’s because a temple hadn’t been built yet where the LORD would put his Name. 

King James Version

2 Only the people sacrificed in high places, because there was no house built unto the name of the LORD, until those days.
