40 And all the people went up after him, playing on pipes, and rejoicing with great joy, so that the earth was split by their noise. 

New International Version

40 And all the people went up after him, playing pipes and rejoicing greatly, so that the ground shook with the sound. 

New International Reader’s Version

40 Then they went up towards the city. Solomon was leading the way. The people were playing flutes. They were filled with great joy. The ground shook because of all the noise. 

King James Version

40 And all the people came up after him, and the people piped with pipes, and rejoiced with great joy, so that the earth rent with the sound of them.
