2 Beloved, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears[1] we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is. 2 Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears,[1] we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.

2 Dear friends, now we are children of God. He still hasn’t let us know what we will be. But we know that when Christ appears, we will be like him. That’s because we will see him as he really is.
