16 By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers. (Joh 15:13; Php 2:17)

16 This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.

16 We know what love is because Jesus Christ gave his life for us. So we should give our lives for our brothers and sisters.
