8 We must not indulge in sexual immorality as some of them did, and twenty-three thousand fell in a single day. (Nu 25:1; Nu 25:9; Ps 106:29; Ac 15:20; 1Co 6:18) 

New International Version

8 We should not commit sexual immorality, as some of them did – and in one day twenty-three thousand of them died.
