1 For I do not want you to be unaware, brothers,[1] that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea, (Ex 13:21; Ex 14:22) 

New International Version

1 For I do not want you to be ignorant of the fact, brothers and sisters, that our ancestors were all under the cloud and that they all passed through the sea. 

New International Reader’s Version

1 Brothers and sisters, I want you to know something about our people who lived long ago. They were all led by the cloud. They all walked through the Red Sea.
