26 for the four chief gatekeepers, who were Levites, were entrusted to be over the chambers and the treasures of the house of God. (1Ki 6:5; 1Ki 6:8) 

New International Version

26 But the four principal gatekeepers, who were Levites, were entrusted with the responsibility for the rooms and treasuries in the house of God. 

New International Reader’s Version

26 But the four main men who guarded the gates were Levites. They were trusted with the duty of taking care of the storerooms and the other rooms in the house of God. 

King James Version

26 For these Levites, the four chief porters, were in their set office, and were over the chambers and treasuries of the house of God.
