English Standard Version

23 And Ephraim went in to his wife, and she conceived and bore a son. And he called his name Beriah, because disaster had befallen his house.[1] 

New International Version

23 Then he made love to his wife again, and she became pregnant and gave birth to a son. He named him Beriah,[1] because there had been misfortune in his family. 

New International Reader’s Version

23 Then he slept with his wife. She became pregnant and had a baby boy. Ephraim named him Beriah. That’s because something bad had happened in his family. 

King James Version

23 And when he went in to his wife, she conceived, and bare a son, and he called his name Beriah, because it went evil with his house.
