9 He also lived to the east as far as the entrance of the desert this side of the Euphrates, because their livestock had multiplied in the land of Gilead. (Jos 22:9) 

New International Version

9 To the east they occupied the land up to the edge of the desert that extends to the River Euphrates, because their livestock had increased in Gilead. 

New International Reader’s Version

9 To the east they made their homes in the land up to the edge of the desert. That desert reaches all the way to the River Euphrates. They made their homes there because their livestock had increased in Gilead. 

King James Version

9 And eastward he inhabited unto the entering in of the wilderness from the river Euphrates: because their cattle were multiplied in the land of Gilead.
