English Standard Version

25 But they broke faith with the God of their fathers, and whored after the gods of the peoples of the land, whom God had destroyed before them. (Ex 34:15; 2Ki 17:7) 

New International Version

25 But they were unfaithful to the God of their ancestors and prostituted themselves to the gods of the peoples of the land, whom God had destroyed before them. 

New International Reader’s Version

25 But they weren’t faithful to the God of their people. They joined themselves to the gods of the nations of the land and worshipped them. God had destroyed those nations to make room for his people. 

King James Version

25 And they transgressed against the God of their fathers, and went a whoring after the gods of the people of the land, whom God destroyed before them.
