English Standard Version

32 Jonathan, David’s uncle, was a counselor, being a man of understanding and a scribe. He and Jehiel the son of Hachmoni attended the king’s sons. 

New International Version

32 Jonathan, David’s uncle, was a counsellor, a man of insight and a scribe. Jehiel son of Hakmoni took care of the king’s sons.

32 Jonathan was David’s uncle. He gave good advice. He was a man of understanding. He was also a secretary. Jehiel took care of the king’s sons. He was the son of Hakmoni.
