1 Now after this Nahash the king of the Ammonites died, and his son reigned in his place. (2Sa 10:1) 

New International Version

1 In the course of time, Nahash king of the Ammonites died, and his son succeeded him as king. 

New International Reader’s Version

1 Nahash was king of Ammon. After he died, his son became the next king after him. 

King James Version

1 Now it came to pass after this, that Nahash the king of the children of Ammon died, and his son reigned in his stead.
