English Standard Version

3 David also defeated Hadadezer king of Zobah-Hamath, as he went to set up his monument[1] at the river Euphrates. (2Sa 8:3; 1Ki 8:65) 

New International Version

3 Moreover, David defeated Hadadezer king of Zobah, in the vicinity of Hamath, when he went to set up his monument at[1] the River Euphrates. 

New International Reader’s Version

3 David fought against Hadadezer in the area of Hamath. Hadadezer was king of Zobah. He had gone to set up his monument at the River Euphrates. 

King James Version

3 And David smote Hadarezer king of Zobah unto Hamath, as he went to stablish his dominion by the river Euphrates.
