14 And when David again inquired of God, God said to him, “You shall not go up after them; go around and come against them opposite the balsam trees. (1Ch 14:16) 

New International Version

14 so David enquired of God again, and God answered him, ‘Do not go directly after them, but circle round them and attack them in front of the poplar trees. 

New International Reader’s Version

14 So David asked God for advice again. God answered him, ‘Do not go straight after them. Instead, circle around them. Attack them in front of the poplar trees. 

King James Version

14 Therefore David enquired again of God; and God said unto him, Go not up after them; turn away from them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees.
