English Standard Version

11 And he went up to Baal-perazim, and David struck them down there. And David said, “God has broken through[1] my enemies by my hand, like a bursting flood.” Therefore the name of that place is called Baal-perazim. 

New International Version

11 So David and his men went up to Baal Perazim, and there he defeated them. He said, ‘As waters break out, God has broken out against my enemies by my hand.’ So that place was called Baal Perazim.[1] 

New International Reader’s Version

11 So David and his men went up to Baal Perazim. There David won the battle over the Philistines. He said, ‘God has broken through against my enemies, just as water breaks through a dam.’ That’s why the place was called Baal Perazim. 

King James Version

11 So they came up to Baalperazim; and David smote them there. Then David said, God hath broken in upon mine enemies by mine hand like the breaking forth of waters: therefore they called the name of that place Baalperazim.
