1 Chronicles 10:4

English Standard Version

4 Then Saul said to his armor-bearer, “Draw your sword and thrust me through with it, lest these uncircumcised come and mistreat me.” But his armor-bearer would not, for he feared greatly. Therefore Saul took his own sword and fell upon it.

New International Version

4 Saul said to his armour-bearer, ‘Draw your sword and run me through, or these uncircumcised fellows will come and abuse me.’ But his armour-bearer was terrified and would not do it; so Saul took his own sword and fell on it.

New International Reader’s Version

4 Saul spoke to the man who was carrying his armour. He said, ‘Pull out your sword and stick it through me. If you don’t, these men who aren’t circumcised will come and hurt me badly.’ But the man was terrified. He wouldn’t do it. So Saul took his own sword and fell on it.

King James Version

4 Then said Saul to his armourbearer, Draw thy sword, and thrust me through therewith; lest these uncircumcised come and abuse me. But his armourbearer would not; for he was sore afraid. So Saul took a sword, and fell upon it.
