Psalm 121 | New International Version

A song of ascents.

1 I lift up my eyes to the mountains – where does my help come from?

2 My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.

3 He will not let your foot slip – he who watches over you will not slumber;

4 indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.

5 The Lord watches over you – the Lord is your shade at your right hand;

6 the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.

7 The Lord will keep you from all harm – he will watch over your life;

8 the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and for evermore.

1 Ein Lied, zu singen auf dem Weg nach Jerusalem. »Ich blicke hinauf zu den Bergen: Woher wird mir Hilfe kommen?«

2 »Meine Hilfe kommt vom HERRN, der Himmel und Erde gemacht hat!

3 Und du sollst wissen:* Der HERR lässt nicht zu, dass du zu Fall kommst. Er gibt immer auf dich acht.

4 Er, der Beschützer Israels, wird nicht müde und schläft nicht ein;

5 er sorgt auch für dich. Der HERR ist bei dir, hält die Hand über dich,

6 damit dich die Hitze der Sonne nicht quält und der Mond dich nicht krank macht.

7 Der HERR wendet Gefahr von dir ab und bewahrt dein Leben.

8 Auf all deinen Wegen wird er dich beschützen, vom Anfang bis zum Ende, jetzt und in aller Zukunft!«
