Psalm 26 | New International Version

Of David.

1 Vindicate me, Lord, for I have led a blameless life; I have trusted in the Lord and have not faltered.

2 Test me, Lord, and try me, examine my heart and my mind;

3 for I have always been mindful of your unfailing love and have lived in reliance on your faithfulness.

4 I do not sit with the deceitful, nor do I associate with hypocrites.

5 I abhor the assembly of evildoers and refuse to sit with the wicked.

6 I wash my hands in innocence, and go about your altar, Lord,

7 proclaiming aloud your praise and telling of all your wonderful deeds.

8 Lord, I love the house where you live, the place where your glory dwells.

9 Do not take away my soul along with sinners, my life with those who are bloodthirsty,

10 in whose hands are wicked schemes, whose right hands are full of bribes.

11 I lead a blameless life; deliver me and be merciful to me.

12 My feet stand on level ground; in the great congregation I will praise the Lord.

1 De David. Fais-moi justice, ô Eternel, ╵car la vie que je mène ╵est sans reproche. Je me confie en l’Eternel, ╵je ne faiblirai pas*.

2 Sonde-moi, Eternel, ╵éprouve-moi et examine ╵mon cœur et mes pensées.

3 Je garde ton amour ╵présent à mon esprit, et je conduis ma vie ╵selon ta vérité.

4 Je ne vais pas m’asseoir ╵avec les hommes fourbes. Je ne fréquente pas ╵les hypocrites.

5 Je hais la compagnie ╵de ceux qui font le mal, je ne vais pas m’asseoir ╵chez les méchants.

6 Je laverai mes mains ╵en signe d’innocence* avant de m’approcher ╵de ton autel, ô Eternel,

7 pour t’exprimer ╵ma gratitude, et raconter ╵tes œuvres merveilleuses.

8 O Eternel, ╵j’aime le lieu ╵où tu habites et où ta gloire* ╵a sa demeure!

9 Ne lie donc pas mon sort ╵à celui des pécheurs, ne m’ôte pas la vie ╵avec les assassins!

10 Ils ont commis ╵des actes criminels, ils se sont laissé acheter*.

11 Mais moi je veux mener ╵une vie sans reproche. Délivre-moi ╵et fais-moi grâce!

12 Je marche sur le droit chemin*. Oui, je veux te bénir, ╵ô Eternel, ╵au sein de l’assemblée.
