Ascribe to the Lord Glory

1 A Psalm of David. Ascribe to the Lord, O heavenly beings,* ascribe to the Lord glory and strength. 2 Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness.* 3 The voice of the Lord is over the waters; the God of glory thunders, the Lord, over many waters. 4 The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is full of majesty. 5 The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars; the Lord breaks the cedars of Lebanon. 6 He makes Lebanon to skip like a calf, and Sirion like a young wild ox. 7 The voice of the Lord flashes forth flames of fire. 8 The voice of the Lord shakes the wilderness; the Lord shakes the wilderness of Kadesh. 9 The voice of the Lord makes the deer give birth* and strips the forests bare, and in his temple all cry, “Glory!” 10 The Lord sits enthroned over the flood; the Lord sits enthroned as king forever. 11 May the Lord give strength to his people! May the Lord bless* his people with peace!

Gottes Größe im Gewitter

1 Ein Lied Davids. Ehrt den HERRN, ihr Mächtigen im Himmel,* ehrt ihn und unterwerft euch seiner Macht! 2 Gebt ihm die Ehre, die ihm allein zusteht! Werft euch nieder vor ihm, wenn er in seiner Heiligkeit erscheint. 3 Die Stimme des HERRN schallt über das Wasser, der mächtige Gott lässt den Donner grollen; der HERR thront über den Ozeanen. 4 Voller Gewalt ist seine Stimme, voll Hoheit dröhnt sie, diese Stimme, 5 die starken Zedern zerschmettert sie; der HERR zerschlägt die Libanonzedern. 6 Der Libanon hüpft vor ihm wie ein Kalb, der Hermon springt auf wie ein junger Büffel. 7 Zuckende Flammen sprüht seine Stimme, 8 die Wüste erzittert vor dieser Stimme; der HERR lässt die Wüste von Kadesch erbeben. 9 Die Hirschkühe kalben aus Angst vor seiner Stimme, die Wälder verlieren ihr Laub vor dieser Stimme. Und in seinem Tempel rufen alle die Seinen: »Ehre dem HERRN!« 10 Der HERR thront über dem Himmelsozean, er herrscht als König für ewige Zeiten. 11 Der HERR wird seinem Volk Kraft geben, er wird es mit Glück und Frieden beschenken.
