1 A Psalm of David. Ascribe to the Lord, O heavenly beings,[1] ascribe to the Lord glory and strength. (1Ch 16:28; Ps 68:34; Ps 96:7) 2 Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness.[2] (Ex 28:2; 1Ch 16:29; Ps 110:3) 3 The voice of the Lord is over the waters; the God of glory thunders, the Lord, over many waters. (Job 37:4; Ps 18:11) 4 The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is full of majesty. (Ps 68:33) 5 The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars; the Lord breaks the cedars of Lebanon. (Jud 9:15; Ps 104:16) 6 He makes Lebanon to skip like a calf, and Sirion like a young wild ox. (Nu 23:22; De 3:9; Ps 114:4; Ps 114:6) 7 The voice of the Lord flashes forth flames of fire. 8 The voice of the Lord shakes the wilderness; the Lord shakes the wilderness of Kadesh. (Nu 13:26) 9 The voice of the Lord makes the deer give birth[3] and strips the forests bare, and in his temple all cry, “Glory!” (Job 39:1) 10 The Lord sits enthroned over the flood; the Lord sits enthroned as king forever. (Ge 6:17; Ps 10:16) 11 May the Lord give strength to his people! May the Lord bless[4] his people with peace! (Ps 68:35; Isa 40:29; Php 4:7)

1 Ein Lied Davids. Ehrt den HERRN, ihr Mächtigen im Himmel,[1] ehrt ihn und unterwerft euch seiner Macht! (Ps 103:20) 2 Gebt ihm die Ehre, die ihm allein zusteht! Werft euch nieder vor ihm, wenn er in seiner Heiligkeit erscheint. 3 Die Stimme des HERRN schallt über das Wasser, der mächtige Gott lässt den Donner grollen; der HERR thront über den Ozeanen. (Job 37:2; Ps 46:7; Joe 2:11; Am 1:2; Joh 12:28) 4 Voller Gewalt ist seine Stimme, voll Hoheit dröhnt sie, diese Stimme, 5 die starken Zedern zerschmettert sie; der HERR zerschlägt die Libanonzedern. 6 Der Libanon hüpft vor ihm wie ein Kalb, der Hermon springt auf wie ein junger Büffel. (Ps 114:4; Ps 114:6) 7 Zuckende Flammen sprüht seine Stimme, 8 die Wüste erzittert vor dieser Stimme; der HERR lässt die Wüste von Kadesch erbeben. 9 Die Hirschkühe kalben aus Angst vor seiner Stimme, die Wälder verlieren ihr Laub vor dieser Stimme. Und in seinem Tempel rufen alle die Seinen: »Ehre dem HERRN!« 10 Der HERR thront über dem Himmelsozean, er herrscht als König für ewige Zeiten. (Ps 47:6; Ps 104:3) 11 Der HERR wird seinem Volk Kraft geben, er wird es mit Glück und Frieden beschenken.
