Präsident Ahas ist depressiv

1 In der Zeit, als Ahas der Präsident von Juda war, gab es einen Krieg gegen Jerusalem. Ahas war der Sohn von Jotam und ein Enkel von Usija. Rezin, der Präsident von Syrien, und Pekach, der Präsident von Israel (ein Sohn von Remalja), griffen mit ihrer Armee seine Stadt an. Aber sie schafften es nicht, diesen Krieg zu gewinnen. 2 Als damals im Präsidentenpalast, den David gebaut hatte, die Meldung gemacht wurde, dass die Truppen aus Syrien bis zum Gebiet von Efraim vorgerückt waren, bekam er Angst. Allen Leuten in Jerusalem schlotterten voll die Knie. 3 Schließlich sprach Gott mit Jesaja über die Sache. Er meinte zu ihm: „Geh mal mit deinem Sohn Schear-Jaschub zum Präsidenten Ahas. Er ist gerade am Ende der Wasserleitung vom oberen Teich. Das liegt bei der Straße, die zur Textilfabrik führt. 4 Dann sagst du zu Ahas Folgendes: ‚Bleiben Sie locker, Ahas, entspannen Sie sich! Lassen Sie sich nicht von der Aggressivität von Rezin und Pekach provozieren! Die sind nur wie eine qualmende Kippe, die bald ausgeht. 5 Syrien und der Nordstaat Israel planen etwas echt Übles mit Ihnen. 6 Sie sagen: ‚Lasst uns mal in Juda einmarschieren und ihnen ordentlich Angst einjagen. Dann erobern wir das ganze Land und machen dort den Sohn von Tabeal zum neuen Präsidenten!‘ 7 Aber Gott sagt Ihnen jetzt, dass das nicht funktionieren wird, es wird nicht so passieren. 8 Die Hauptstadt von Syrien ist Damaskus, und der Chef von Damaskus ist ja nur der Rezin, der nichts drauf hat. In 65 Jahren ist die Sache vorbei, den Nordstaat Israel wird es dann nicht mehr geben. 9 Die Hauptstadt vom Nordstaat Israel ist Samaria, und der Chef von Samaria ist ja nur dieser peinliche Sohn von Remalja, dieser Pekach. Aber wenn ihr nicht auf Gott setzt und ihm vertraut, dann wird keiner von euch überleben.‘“

Gott hält sein Versprechen

10 Gott hatte Ahas noch mehr zu sagen: 11 „Wenn du Bock hast, kannst du ja eine Bestätigung dafür fordern, irgendein übernatürliches Zeichen oder so. Wenn du willst, könnte dir irgendein toter Mensch erscheinen oder auch ein Engel, kannst du dir aussuchen!“ 12 Aber Ahas meinte: „Nee, keine gute Idee, ich will Gott nicht herausfordern, und ich will ihn auch nicht austesten.“ 13 „Hallo?“, sagte Jesaja. „Es reicht Ihnen und der Präsidentenfamilie vom David wohl nicht, dass Sie den Menschen auf die Nerven gehen, jetzt müssen Sie auch noch Gott auf die Nerven gehen! 14 Gott wird Ihnen eine Bestätigung, ein Zeichen geben! Passen Sie auf, eine junge Frau, die noch nie mit einem Mann geschlafen hat, wird schwanger werden. Sie kriegt dann einen Jungen, und der wird den Namen Immanuel bekommen. Immanuel bedeutet so viel wie ‚Gott ist bei uns‘. 15 Er wird sich nur von Milch und Toastbrot ernähren, bis er in der Lage ist, das Gute zu tun und das Schlechte zu lassen. 16 Bevor das passiert, wird das Land der beiden Präsidenten, vor denen Sie jetzt Angst haben, kaputt und am Boden sein. 17 Gott wird organisieren, dass dann auch für Sie, Ihre Leute und Ihre Familie eine ganz ätzende Zeit kommen wird. Es wird im ganzen Land so ätzend sein, wie es noch nie gewesen ist, seit Israel und Juda nicht mehr ein Staat sind. Dazu wird Gott den Präsidenten von Assyrien benutzen.“

Die Zukunft wird finster

18 Irgendwann wird es eine Zeit geben, wo Gott eure Feinde zusammenführen wird. Die Gegner, die am Fluss von Ägypten wohnen, und die, die aus Assyrien kommen, wird er versammeln, 19 und sie werden alle kommen und überall wohnen, sogar in der Kanalisation. Sie werden ihr Lager in den Abbruchhäusern und Hinterhöfen, den U-Bahn-Schächten und auf den Parkbänken aufbauen. Sie werden die Tankstellen überfallen und auch dort leben. 20 Gott wird dann den Präsidenten von Assyrien wie einen Friseur benutzen, der euch die Schamhaare, die Haare auf dem Kopf und auf den Beinen abrasiert. Das wird sehr peinlich. 21 In der Zeit wird jeder von euch eine Kuh und zwei Schafe halten können, mehr nicht. 22 Ihr werdet euch von Milch und Toastbrot ernähren müssen, sonst wird es nichts mehr zu essen geben. 23 Dann wird es so sein, dass man von seinem Weinberg nichts mehr ernten kann, das gilt auch für die ganz großen Weinberge mit tausend Pflanzen drauf, wo jede einzelne 130 Euro wert war. Diese Weinberge werden von Brennnesseln und Disteln voll zugewachsen sein. 24 Überall im Land werden sich die Brennnesseln und Disteln wie blöd vermehren. Der einzige Grund, um dort mal hinzufahren, ist, weil man dort auf die Jagd gehen will, um vielleicht was zu essen zu bekommen. 25 Selbst die Felder, die auf den Bergen liegen, wird man nicht mehr beackern, weil man so viel Schiss vor den Brennnesseln und Distelbüschen hat. Irgendwann werden dort Rinder grasen, und Schafe werden die Weinpflanzen zertreten.

1 And it came to pass in the days of Ahaz the son of Jotham, the son of Uzziah, king of Judah, that Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the son of Remaliah, king of Israel, went up toward Jerusalem to war against it, but could not prevail against it. 2 And it was told the house of David, saying, Syria is confederate with Ephraim. And his heart was moved, and the heart of his people, as the trees of the wood are moved with the wind. 3 Then said the LORD unto Isaiah, Go forth now to meet Ahaz, thou, and Shearjashub thy son, at the end of the conduit of the upper pool in the highway of the fuller' field; 4 And say unto him, Take heed, and be quiet; fear not, neither be fainthearted for the two tails of these smoking firebrands, for the fierce anger of Rezin with Syria, and of the son of Remaliah. 5 Because Syria, Ephraim, and the son of Remaliah, have taken evil counsel against thee, saying, 6 Let us go up against Judah, and vex it, and let us make a breach therein for us, and set a king in the midst of it, even the son of Tabeal: 7 Thus saith the Lord GOD, It shall not stand, neither shall it come to pass. 8 For the head of Syria is Damascus, and the head of Damascus is Rezin; and within threescore and five years shall Ephraim be broken, that it be not a people. 9 And the head of Ephraim is Samaria, and the head of Samaria is Remaliah' son. If ye will not believe, surely ye shall not be established. 10 Moreover the LORD spake again unto Ahaz, saying, 11 Ask thee a sign of the LORD thy God; ask it either in the depth, or in the height above. 12 But Ahaz said, I will not ask, neither will I tempt the LORD. 13 And he said, Hear ye now, O house of David; Is it a small thing for you to weary men, but will ye weary my God also? 14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. 15 Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may know to refuse the evil, and choose the good. 16 For before the child shall know to refuse the evil, and choose the good, the land that thou abhorrest shall be forsaken of both her kings. 17 The LORD shall bring upon thee, and upon thy people, and upon thy father' house, days that have not come, from the day that Ephraim departed from Judah; even the king of Assyria. 18 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall hiss for the fly that is in the uttermost part of the rivers of Egypt, and for the bee that is in the land of Assyria. 19 And they shall come, and shall rest all of them in the desolate valleys, and in the holes of the rocks, and upon all thorns, and upon all bushes. 20 In the same day shall the Lord shave with a razor that is hired, namely , by them beyond the river, by the king of Assyria, the head, and the hair of the feet: and it shall also consume the beard. 21 And it shall come to pass in that day, that a man shall nourish a young cow, and two sheep; 22 And it shall come to pass, for the abundance of milk that they shall give he shall eat butter: for butter and honey shall every one eat that is left in the land. 23 And it shall come to pass in that day, that every place shall be, where there were a thousand vines at a thousand silverlings, it shall even be for briers and thorns. 24 With arrows and with bows shall men come thither; because all the land shall become briers and thorns. 25 And on all hills that shall be digged with the mattock, there shall not come thither the fear of briers and thorns: but it shall be for the sending forth of oxen, and for the treading of lesser cattle.

Isaiah Sent to King Ahaz

1 In the days of Ahaz the son of Jotham, son of Uzziah, king of Judah, Rezin the king of Syria and Pekah the son of Remaliah the king of Israel came up to Jerusalem to wage war against it, but could not yet mount an attack against it. The Sign of Immanuel

10 Again the LORD spoke to Ahaz: 11 “Ask a sign of the LORD your^[6] God; let it be deep as Sheol or high as heaven.” (2Kön 19,29) 12 But Ahaz said, “I will not ask, and I will not put the LORD to the test.” 13 And he^[7] said, “Hear then, O house of David! Is it too little for you to weary men, that you weary my God also? (Jes 43,24) 14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. 15 He shall eat curds and honey when he knows how to refuse the evil and choose the good.
