1Der Chef ist mein Licht und mein Retter – vor wem sollte ich mich ängstlich verstecken? Der Chef ist meine Zuflucht, mein Schutz – vor wem sollte ich mich denn erschrecken?2Ihr Deppen könnt schon versuchen, mich niederzumachen, doch es bleibt beim Versuch, denn zuletzt werde ich lachen.3Ich hab’ keine Angst, selbst wenn ein ganzes Heer mich mobbt. Ich vertrau auf meinen Chef, weil er euch alle locker toppt.4Ich bin Bewohner seines Hauses, dort für immer geborgen. Denk’ nach über seine Freundlichkeit, die bleibt, auch morgen.5Gehoben von ihm auf sein Fundament, wenn alles um mich vergeht.6Deshalb lobe ich ihn, auch weil er immer zu mir steht.7Höre, meine Stimme, Chef, das rufe ich: Bitte sei lieb zu mir und erhöre mich.8Und ich erinner’ mich, Gottes Nähe suche ich. Genau das mache ich, ich schaue nur auf dich. Weis’ mich nicht ab, auch wenn du grade sauer bist.9Sei meine Hilfe, auf ewig, Chef, verlass’ mich nicht.10Meine Eltern haben’s getan, doch ich weiß, du bleibst,11und lehrst mich deine Wege, leitest mich, vertreibst12meine Feinde, gibst mich ihnen nicht in die Hände. Selbst wenn sie Rufmord betreiben, es kommt die Wende.13Dessen kann ich mir sicher sein und voller Überzeugung sagen:14Hab’ Geduld, sei mutig, hab ’n starkes Herz. Er wird dich tragen!
