1Kardeşler, nasıl yaşamanız, Tanrı'yı nasıl hoşnut etmeniz gerektiğini bizden öğrendiniz. Nitekim öyle yaşıyorsunuz. Son olarak bu konuda daha da ilerlemeniz için Rab İsa adına size rica ediyor, yalvarıyoruz.2Rab İsa'nın yetkisiyle size hangi buyrukları ilettiğimizi biliyorsunuz.3Tanrı'nın isteği şudur: Kutsal olmanız, fuhuştan kaçınmanız,4-5her birinizin, Tanrı'yı tanımayan uluslar gibi şehvet tutkusuyla değil, kutsallık ve saygınlıkla kendine bir eş alması6ve bu konuda haksızlık edip kardeşini aldatmamasıdır. Daha önce de size söylediğimiz, sizi uyardığımız gibi, Rab bütün bu suçlardan ötürü insanları cezalandıracaktır.7Çünkü Tanrı bizi ahlaksızlığa değil, kutsal bir yaşam sürmeye çağırdı.8Dolayısıyla bu çağrıyı reddeden kişi insanı değil, size Kutsal Ruhu'nu veren Tanrı'yı reddetmiş olur.9Kardeşlik sevgisi konusunda kimsenin size bir şey yazmasına gerek yoktur. Çünkü Tanrı size birbirinizi sevmeyi öğretti.10Gerçekte bütün Makedonya'daki kardeşlerin hepsini seviyorsunuz. Kardeşler, size rica ediyoruz, bu konuda daha da ilerleyin.11Size buyurduğumuz gibi, sakin bir yaşam sürmeyi, kendi işinize bakmayı, ellerinizle çalışmayı amaç edinin.12Öyle ki, kimseye muhtaç olmadan öbür insanların önünde saygın bir yaşam süresiniz.
İsa'nın Tekrar Gelişi
13Kardeşler, umudu olmayan öbür insanlar gibi kederlenmemeniz için, gözlerini yaşama kapamış olanlar konusunda bilgisiz kalmanızı istemiyoruz.14İsa'nın ölüp dirildiğine inanıyoruz. Aynı şekilde Tanrı, İsa'ya bağlı olarak gözlerini yaşama kapamış olanları da O'nunla birlikte geri getirecektir.15Rab'bin sözüne dayanarak size diyoruz ki, biz yaşamakta olanlar, Rab'bin gelişinde hayatta olanlar, gözlerini yaşama kapayanların önüne asla geçmeyeceğiz.16Rab'bin kendisi, bir emir çağrısıyla, başmeleğin seslenmesiyle, Tanrı'nın borazanıyla gökten inecek. Önce Mesih'e ait ölüler dirilecek.17Sonra biz yaşamakta olanlar, hayatta olanlar, onlarla birlikte Rab'bi havada karşılamak üzere bulutlar içinde alınıp götürüleceğiz. Böylece sonsuza dek Rab'le birlikte olacağız.18İşte birbirinizi bu sözlerle teselli edin.
1Finally, then, brothers,[1] we ask and urge you in the Lord Jesus, that as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God, just as you are doing, that you do so more and more. The Coming of the Lord
13But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. (Lev 19:28; Yas 14:1; 2 Sa 12:20; Mar 5:39; Ef 2:12)14For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep. (1 Ko 15:13; 1 Ko 15:18; 2 Ko 4:14; Va 1:18)15For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord,[4] that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. (1 Kr 13:17; 1 Ko 15:51; 1 Se 2:19)16For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. (Yoe 2:11; Mat 16:27; Mat 24:31; 1 Ko 15:23; 1 Ko 15:52; 2 Se 1:7; 2 Se 2:1; Yah 1:9; Va 14:13)17Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.
