Israels Sieg über die Midianiter

1 Und der HERR redete zu Mose und sprach: 2 Nimm für die Kinder Israels Rache an den Midianitern; danach sollst du zu deinem Volk versammelt werden! (4Mo 25,16; 4Mo 27,13) 3 Da redete Mose zu dem Volk und sprach: Rüstet unter euch Männer zu einem Kriegszug, und zwar gegen Midian, dass sie die Rache des HERRN an den Midianitern vollstrecken! (2Mo 17,9; 5Mo 32,35; 5Mo 32,43) 4 Aus allen Stämmen Israels sollt ihr je 1 000 Mann zum Feldzug entsenden! (1Sam 14,6) 5 Da wurden aus den Tausenden Israels tausend von jedem Stamm ausgehoben, 12 000 für den Feldzug Gerüstete. (Offb 7,4) 6 Und Mose entsandte sie, tausend aus jedem Stamm, in den Feldzug, sie und Pinehas, den Sohn Eleasars, des Priesters, zum Heereszug, mit den heiligen Geräten und den Lärmtrompeten in seiner Hand. 7 Und sie führten den Feldzug gegen die Midianiter, wie der HERR es Mose geboten hatte, und töteten alles, was männlich war. (4Mo 31,9; 4Mo 31,15; 4Mo 31,18; 5Mo 20,13; Jos 13,21; Ri 21,11; 1Sam 27,9)

8 Sie töteten auch die Könige der Midianiter zusätzlich zu den von ihnen Erschlagenen, nämlich Ewi, Rekem, Zur, Hur und Reba, fünf Könige der Midianiter; auch Bileam, den Sohn Beors, brachten sie mit dem Schwert um. (Jos 13,21; Ps 9,17; Spr 11,3; Spr 11,6; Mt 16,26)

10 und alle ihre Städte, ihre Wohnungen und alle ihre Zeltlager verbrannten sie mit Feuer. (Jos 6,24) 11 Und sie nahmen alle Beute und allen Raub an Menschen und Vieh (5Mo 20,14; Jos 11,14) 12 und brachten es zu Mose und Eleasar, dem Priester, und zu der Gemeinde der Kinder Israels, nämlich die Gefangenen und die Beute und das geraubte Gut, in das Lager, in die Ebenen Moabs, die am Jordan liegen, Jericho gegenüber. (4Mo 26,3; 4Mo 26,63) 13 Und Mose und Eleasar, der Priester, und alle Stammesfürsten der Gemeinde gingen ihnen entgegen vor das Lager hinaus. (1Mo 14,17; 1Sam 15,12) 14 Und Mose wurde zornig über die Befehlshaber des Heeres, die Obersten über Tausend und die Obersten über Hundert, die vom Feldzug kamen. (Jos 6,21; 1Sam 15,3) 16 Siehe, sie haben ja in der Sache des Peor durch den Rat Bileams die Kinder Israels vom HERRN abgewandt, sodass der Gemeinde des HERRN die Plage widerfuhr! 17 So tötet nun alles, was männlich ist unter den Kindern, und tötet alle Frauen, die einen Mann im Beischlaf erkannt haben; (Ri 21,11) 18 aber alle Kinder weiblichen Geschlechts, die keinen Mann im Beischlaf erkannt haben, die lasst für euch leben. (5Mo 21,10) 19 Lagert euch nun außerhalb des Lagers sieben Tage lang, jeder, der eine Seele getötet oder einen Erschlagenen angerührt hat; entsündigt euch dann am dritten und siebten Tag, ihr und eure Gefangenen. (4Mo 5,2; 4Mo 19,16) 20 Und alle Kleider und alles Gerät von Fellen und alles, was von Ziegenhaar gemacht ist, und alles hölzerne Gerät sollt ihr entsündigen! (3Mo 15,12; 3Mo 15,17; 4Mo 19,11) 21 Und Eleasar, der Priester, sprach zu den Kriegsleuten, die in die Schlacht gezogen waren: Siehe, das ist die Gesetzesbestimmung, die der HERR Mose geboten hat: 22 Nur das Gold und das Silber, das Erz, das Eisen, das Zinn und das Blei, (Jos 6,19; Jos 22,8) 23 alles, was das Feuer aushält, sollt ihr durchs Feuer gehen lassen, und es wird rein sein; nur muss es mit dem Reinigungswasser entsündigt werden. Aber alles, was das Feuer nicht aushält, sollt ihr durchs Wasser gehen lassen. (4Mo 19,17; Sach 13,9) 24 Auch eure Kleider sollt ihr am siebten Tag waschen, so werdet ihr rein. Danach sollt ihr ins Lager kommen! (3Mo 14,9; 3Mo 15,13)

Aufteilung der Kriegsbeute

25 Und der HERR redete zu Mose und sprach: 26 Stelle die Summe der Kriegsbeute fest, an Gefangenen, Menschen und Vieh, du und Eleasar, der Priester, und die Häupter der Vaterhäuser der Gemeinde, 27 und teile die Kriegsbeute zur Hälfte zwischen denen, die den Krieg geführt haben, die ins Feld gezogen sind, und der ganzen Gemeinde. (Jos 22,8; 1Sam 30,24) 28 Du sollst aber dem HERRN eine Abgabe erheben von den Kriegsleuten, die ins Feld gezogen sind, ein Leben auf je 500, von den Menschen, von den Rindern, von den Eseln und von den Schafen. (1Mo 14,20; 4Mo 18,26; 2Sam 8,11) 29 Von ihrer Hälfte sollst du es nehmen und es Eleasar, dem Priester, geben, als Hebopfer für den HERRN. (4Mo 18,28) 30 Aber von der Hälfte der Kinder Israels sollst du von je 50 ein Stück nehmen, von den Menschen, von den Rindern, von den Eseln und von den Schafen, von allem Vieh, und sollst sie den Leviten geben, die den Dienst an der Wohnung des HERRN verrichten. (4Mo 3,7; 1Kor 9,13) 31 Und Mose und Eleasar, der Priester, machten es so, wie der HERR es Mose geboten hatte. (4Mo 27,11; 4Mo 27,23) 32 Und die Kriegsbeute, die das Kriegsvolk geraubt hatte, betrug: 675 000 Schafe (4Mo 31,11) 33 und 72 000 Rinder, 34 und 61 000 Esel. 35 Und was die Menschenseelen betrifft, so war die Zahl der Mädchen, die vom Beischlaf eines Mannes nichts wussten, 32 000. 36 Und die Hälfte [der Kriegsbeute], welche denen gehörte, die ins Feld gezogen waren, betrug 337 500 Schafe, 37 und die Abgabe für den HERRN betrug 675 Schafe; (4Mo 31,38) 38 ferner 36 000 Rinder; davon die Abgabe für den HERRN 72; 39 ferner 30 500 Esel, davon die Abgabe für den HERRN 61; 40 [sowie] 16 000 Menschenseelen; davon die Abgabe für den HERRN 32 Seelen. 41 Und Mose gab diese Abgabe Eleasar, dem Priester, als Hebopfer für den HERRN, wie der HERR es Mose geboten hatte. 42 Und die Hälfte für die Kinder Israels, die Mose abgeteilt hatte von [der Kriegsbeute] der Männer, die in den Krieg gezogen waren, 43 nämlich die der Gemeinde zufallende Hälfte, betrug 337 500 Schafe 44 und 36 000 Rinder 45 und 30 500 Esel 46 sowie 16 000 Menschenseelen. 47 Und Mose nahm von dieser Hälfte der Kinder Israels je ein Stück von 50 heraus, von Menschen und Vieh, und gab sie den Leviten, die den Dienst an der Wohnung des HERRN verrichteten, wie der HERR es Mose geboten hatte. (4Mo 31,30) 48 Und die Befehlshaber über die Tausendschaften des Heeres traten zu Mose, die Obersten über Tausend und die Obersten über Hundert, (4Mo 31,14) 49 und sie sprachen zu Mose: Deine Knechte haben die Summe der Kriegsleute festgestellt, die unter unserem Befehl gewesen sind, und es fehlt nicht ein Mann von uns. (1Sam 30,18; Ps 72,14; Joh 18,9) 50 Darum bringen wir dem HERRN eine Opfergabe, was jeder gefunden hat von goldenem Geschmeide, Fußketten, Armbänder, Fingerringe, Ohrringe und Spangen, um für unsere Seelen Sühnung zu tun vor dem HERRN! (2Mo 30,12; 2Mo 30,16; 1Chr 26,26) 51 Und Mose und Eleasar, der Priester, nahmen von ihnen das Gold, allerlei kunstfertig gearbeitetes Geschmeide. 52 Und das ganze Gold des Hebopfers, das sie dem HERRN darbrachten, betrug 16 750 Schekel, von den Obersten über Tausend und den Obersten über Hundert. 53 Die Kriegsleute aber hatten jeder für sich geplündert. (5Mo 20,14) 54 Und Mose und Eleasar, der Priester, nahmen das Gold von den Obersten über Tausend und über Hundert und brachten es in die Stiftshütte, zum Gedenken für die Kinder Israels vor dem HERRN. 1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 2 Avenge the children of Israel of the Midianites: afterward shalt thou be gathered unto thy people. 3 And Moses spake unto the people, saying, Arm some of yourselves unto the war, and let them go against the Midianites, and avenge the LORD of Midian. 4 Of every tribe a thousand, throughout all the tribes of Israel, shall ye send to the war. 5 So there were delivered out of the thousands of Israel, a thousand of every tribe, twelve thousand armed for war. 6 And Moses sent them to the war, a thousand of every tribe, them and Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest, to the war, with the holy instruments, and the trumpets to blow in his hand. 7 And they warred against the Midianites, as the LORD commanded Moses; and they slew all the males. 8 And they slew the kings of Midian, beside the rest of them that were slain; namely , Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, five kings of Midian: Balaam also the son of Beor they slew with the sword. 9 And the children of Israel took all the women of Midian captives, and their little ones, and took the spoil of all their cattle, and all their flocks, and all their goods. 10 And they burnt all their cities wherein they dwelt, and all their goodly castles, with fire. 11 And they took all the spoil, and all the prey, both of men and of beasts. 12 And they brought the captives, and the prey, and the spoil, unto Moses, and Eleazar the priest, and unto the congregation of the children of Israel, unto the camp at the plains of Moab, which are by Jordan near Jericho. 13 And Moses, and Eleazar the priest, and all the princes of the congregation, went forth to meet them without the camp. 14 And Moses was wroth with the officers of the host, with the captains over thousands, and captains over hundreds, which came from the battle. 15 And Moses said unto them, Have ye saved all the women alive? 16 Behold, these caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to commit trespass against the LORD in the matter of Peor, and there was a plague among the congregation of the LORD. 17 Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. 18 But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves. 19 And do ye abide without the camp seven days: whosoever hath killed any person, and whosoever hath touched any slain, purify both yourselves and your captives on the third day, and on the seventh day. 20 And purify all your raiment, and all that is made of skins, and all work of goats'hair , and all things made of wood. 21 And Eleazar the priest said unto the men of war which went to the battle, This is the ordinance of the law which the LORD commanded Moses; 22 Only the gold, and the silver, the brass, the iron, the tin, and the lead, 23 Every thing that may abide the fire, ye shall make it go through the fire, and it shall be clean: nevertheless it shall be purified with the water of separation: and all that abideth not the fire ye shall make go through the water. 24 And ye shall wash your clothes on the seventh day, and ye shall be clean, and afterward ye shall come into the camp. 25 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 26 Take the sum of the prey that was taken, both of man and of beast, thou, and Eleazar the priest, and the chief fathers of the congregation: 27 And divide the prey into two parts; between them that took the war upon them, who went out to battle, and between all the congregation: 28 And levy a tribute unto the LORD of the men of war which went out to battle: one soul of five hundred, both of the persons, and of the beeves, and of the asses, and of the sheep: 29 Take it of their half, and give it unto Eleazar the priest, for an heave offering of the LORD. 30 And of the children of Israel' half, thou shalt take one portion of fifty, of the persons, of the beeves, of the asses, and of the flocks, of all manner of beasts, and give them unto the Levites, which keep the charge of the tabernacle of the LORD. 31 And Moses and Eleazar the priest did as the LORD commanded Moses. 32 And the booty, being the rest of the prey which the men of war had caught, was six hundred thousand and seventy thousand and five thousand sheep, 33 And threescore and twelve thousand beeves, 34 And threescore and one thousand asses, 35 And thirty and two thousand persons in all, of women that had not known man by lying with him. 36 And the half, which was the portion of them that went out to war, was in number three hundred thousand and seven and thirty thousand and five hundred sheep: 37 And the LORD' tribute of the sheep was six hundred and threescore and fifteen. 38 And the beeves were thirty and six thousand; of which the LORD' tribute was threescore and twelve. 39 And the asses were thirty thousand and five hundred; of which the LORD' tribute was threescore and one. 40 And the persons were sixteen thousand; of which the LORD' tribute was thirty and two persons. 41 And Moses gave the tribute, which was the LORD' heave offering, unto Eleazar the priest, as the LORD commanded Moses. 42 And of the children of Israel' half, which Moses divided from the men that warred, 43 (Now the half that pertained unto the congregation was three hundred thousand and thirty thousand and seven thousand and five hundred sheep, 44 And thirty and six thousand beeves, 45 And thirty thousand asses and five hundred, 46 And sixteen thousand persons;) 47 Even of the children of Israel' half, Moses took one portion of fifty, both of man and of beast, and gave them unto the Levites, which kept the charge of the tabernacle of the LORD; as the LORD commanded Moses. 48 And the officers which were over thousands of the host, the captains of thousands, and captains of hundreds, came near unto Moses: 49 And they said unto Moses, Thy servants have taken the sum of the men of war which are under our charge, and there lacketh not one man of us. 50 We have therefore brought an oblation for the LORD, what every man hath gotten, of jewels of gold, chains, and bracelets, rings, earrings, and tablets, to make an atonement for our souls before the LORD. 51 And Moses and Eleazar the priest took the gold of them, even all wrought jewels. 52 And all the gold of the offering that they offered up to the LORD, of the captains of thousands, and of the captains of hundreds, was sixteen thousand seven hundred and fifty shekels. 53 ( For the men of war had taken spoil, every man for himself.) 54 And Moses and Eleazar the priest took the gold of the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and brought it into the tabernacle of the congregation, for a memorial for the children of Israel before the LORD.
