1Da machte sich Jakob wieder auf den Weg und ging ins Land der Söhne des Ostens. (4Mo 23,7)2Und er sah sich um und siehe, da war ein Brunnen auf dem Feld, und siehe, drei Herden Schafe lagen dabei; denn von dem Brunnen mussten die Herden trinken. Und ein großer Stein lag über der Öffnung des Brunnens. (1Mo 24,11; 2Mo 2,15; Hl 1,7; Jes 49,10; Joh 4,6; Offb 7,17)3Und sie pflegten alle Herden dort zu versammeln und den Stein von der Öffnung des Brunnens wegzuwälzen und die Schafe zu tränken, und dann brachten sie den Stein wieder an seinen Ort, über die Öffnung des Brunnens. (1Mo 29,8)4Und Jakob sprach zu ihnen: Meine Brüder, woher seid ihr? Sie antworteten: Wir sind von Haran. (1Mo 11,31; 1Mo 24,10; Apg 7,2; Apg 7,4)5Er sprach zu ihnen: Kennt ihr auch Laban, den Sohn Nahors? Sie antworteten: Wir kennen ihn wohl! (1Mo 24,15; 1Mo 24,29)6Er sprach zu ihnen: Geht es ihm gut? Sie antworteten: Es geht ihm gut; und siehe, da kommt seine Tochter Rahel mit den Schafen! (1Mo 43,27)7Er sprach: Siehe, es ist noch heller Tag und noch nicht Zeit, das Vieh einzutreiben; tränkt die Schafe und geht hin, weidet sie!8Sie antworteten: Wir können es nicht, ehe alle Herden zusammengebracht sind und sie den Stein von der Öffnung des Brunnens wälzen; dann können wir die Schafe tränken. (1Mo 29,3; Mk 16,3; Lk 24,2)9Als er noch mit ihnen redete, kam Rahel mit den Schafen ihres Vaters; denn sie war eine Hirtin. (1Mo 24,15; 2Mo 2,16; Hl 1,7)10Und es geschah, als Jakob Rahel sah, die Tochter Labans, des Bruders seiner Mutter, und die Schafe Labans, des Bruders seiner Mutter, da trat er hinzu und wälzte den Stein von der Öffnung des Brunnens und tränkte die Schafe Labans, des Bruders seiner Mutter. (2Mo 2,17)11Und Jakob küsste Rahel und erhob seine Stimme und weinte. (1Mo 29,13; 1Mo 33,4; 1Mo 43,30; 1Mo 45,2; 1Mo 45,14; Röm 16,16)12Da sagte Jakob der Rahel, dass er der Bruder ihres Vaters und der Sohn der Rebekka sei. Da lief sie und sagte es ihrem Vater. (1Mo 13,8; 1Mo 14,14; 1Mo 24,28)13Und es geschah, als Laban die Nachricht von Jakob, dem Sohn seiner Schwester, hörte, da lief er ihm entgegen, umarmte und küsste ihn und führte ihn in sein Haus. Da erzählte er Laban diese ganze Geschichte. (1Mo 24,28; 2Mo 4,27; 2Mo 18,7; 2Sam 19,39)14Da sprach Laban zu ihm: Fürwahr, du bist mein Gebein und mein Fleisch! Und er blieb bei ihm einen Monat lang. (2Sam 19,12; Mi 7,5)
Lea und Rahel werden Jakob zu Frauen gegeben
15Danach sprach Laban zu Jakob: Solltest du mir darum umsonst dienen, weil du mein Neffe bist? Sage mir, was soll dein Lohn sein? (1Mo 30,28; 1Mo 31,7)16Laban aber hatte zwei Töchter; die ältere hieß Lea und die jüngere Rahel. (1Mo 29,17; Rut 4,11)17Und Lea hatte matte Augen, Rahel aber hatte eine schöne Gestalt und ein schönes Angesicht. (1Mo 29,9; 1Mo 30,1; 1Mo 30,22; 1Mo 48,7; Spr 31,30)18Und Jakob liebte Rahel, und so sprach er: Ich will dir sieben Jahre lang dienen um Rahel, deine jüngere Tochter! (1Mo 31,41; 1Sam 18,25)19Da antwortete Laban: Es ist besser, ich gebe sie dir als einem anderen Mann; bleibe bei mir! (Ps 12,3)20So diente Jakob um Rahel sieben Jahre lang, und sie kamen ihm vor wie einzelne Tage, so lieb hatte er sie. (Hl 8,7; Hos 12,13)21Und Jakob sprach zu Laban: Gib mir meine Frau, dass ich zu ihr eingehe, denn meine Zeit ist erfüllt! (Ri 15,1)22Da lud Laban alle Leute des Ortes ein und machte ein Mahl. (Ri 14,10; Rut 4,10; Joh 2,1)23Und es geschah am Abend, da nahm er seine Tochter Lea und brachte sie zu ihm hinein; und er ging zu ihr ein.24Und Laban gab seine Magd Silpa seiner Tochter Lea zur Magd. (1Mo 30,9; 1Mo 46,18)25Und es geschah am Morgen, siehe, da war es Lea! Und er sprach zu Laban: Warum hast du mir das getan? Habe ich dir nicht um Rahel gedient? Warum hast du mich denn betrogen? (1Mo 27,35; Offb 3,10)26Laban antwortete: Es ist nicht Sitte in unserem Ort, dass man die Jüngere vor der Älteren weggibt. (Ri 15,2; 1Sam 18,17)27Vollende die [Hochzeits-]Woche mit dieser, so wollen wir dir jene auch geben, für den Dienst, den du mir noch weitere sieben Jahre lang leisten sollst! (3Mo 18,18)28Und Jakob machte es so und vollendete die [Hochzeits-]Woche mit dieser. Da gab er ihm Rahel, seine Tochter, zur Frau. (1Mo 29,18)29Und Laban gab seiner Tochter Rahel seine Magd Bilha zur Magd. (1Mo 29,24; 1Mo 30,3)30So ging er auch zu Rahel ein; und er hatte Rahel lieber als Lea. Und er diente ihm noch weitere sieben Jahre lang. (1Mo 29,20; 1Mo 29,31; 5Mo 21,15)
Jakobs Söhne
31Als aber der HERR sah, dass Lea verschmäht war, da öffnete er ihren Mutterschoß; Rahel aber war unfruchtbar. (1Mo 16,1; 1Mo 30,1; 2Mo 3,7)32Und Lea wurde schwanger und gebar einen Sohn, dem gab sie den Namen Ruben. Denn sie sprach: Weil der HERR mein Elend angesehen hat, so wird mich nun mein Mann lieb gewinnen! (1Mo 35,22; 1Mo 37,21; 1Mo 49,3; 5Mo 26,7; 1Sam 1,11; 1Chr 5,1; Ps 31,8; Ps 33,18)33Und sie wurde wieder schwanger und gebar einen Sohn und sprach: Weil der HERR gehört hat, dass ich verschmäht bin, so hat er mir auch diesen gegeben! Und sie gab ihm den Namen Simeon. (1Mo 34,25; 1Mo 34,30; 1Mo 49,5)34Und sie wurde wieder schwanger und gebar einen Sohn und sprach: Nun wird mein Mann mir anhänglich sein, denn ich habe ihm drei Söhne geboren!
