1Als sie sich nun Jerusalem näherten und nach Bethphage an den Ölberg kamen, sandte Jesus zwei Jünger (Mt 24,3; Lk 19,29; Apg 1,12)2und sprach zu ihnen: Geht in das Dorf, das vor euch liegt, und sogleich werdet ihr eine Eselin angebunden finden und ein Füllen bei ihr; die bindet los und führt sie zu mir! (Ps 8,6; Mt 26,18)3Und wenn euch jemand etwas sagt, so sprecht: Der Herr braucht sie!, dann wird er sie sogleich senden. Die zweite Tempelreinigung
12Und Jesus ging in den Tempel Gottes hinein und trieb alle hinaus, die im Tempel verkauften und kauften, und stieß die Tische der Wechsler um und die Stühle der Taubenverkäufer. (2Mo 30,13; 3Mo 1,14; 5Mo 14,24; Mal 3,1; Lk 2,24)13Und er sprach zu ihnen: Es steht geschrieben: »Mein Haus soll ein Bethaus genannt werden!«[2] Ihr aber habt eine Räuberhöhle daraus gemacht! Der unfruchtbare Feigenbaum. Die Macht des Glaubens
18Als er aber früh am Morgen in die Stadt zurückkehrte, hatte er Hunger. (Hebr 4,15)19Und als er einen einzelnen Feigenbaum am Weg sah, ging er zu ihm hin und fand nichts daran als nur Blätter. Da sprach er zu ihm: Nun soll von dir keine Frucht mehr kommen in Ewigkeit! Und auf der Stelle verdorrte der Feigenbaum. (Jer 8,13; Hos 9,16; Mt 25,29; Joh 15,6; Jak 2,14; Jak 2,24)20Und als die Jünger es sahen, verwunderten sie sich und sprachen: Wie ist der Feigenbaum so plötzlich verdorrt?21Jesus aber antwortete und sprach zu ihnen: Wahrlich, ich sage euch: Wenn ihr Glauben habt und nicht zweifelt, so werdet ihr nicht nur tun, was mit dem Feigenbaum geschah, sondern auch, wenn ihr zu diesem Berg sagt: Hebe dich und wirf dich ins Meer!, so wird es geschehen. (Mt 17,20; Joh 14,12; Röm 4,20; Hebr 11,33; Jak 1,6)22Und alles, was ihr glaubend erbittet im Gebet, das werdet ihr empfangen! (Mt 7,7; Joh 9,31)
Die Frage nach der Vollmacht Jesu
23Und als er in den Tempel kam, traten die obersten Priester und die Ältesten des Volkes zu ihm, während er lehrte, und sprachen: In welcher Vollmacht tust du dies, und wer hat dir diese Vollmacht gegeben? (Joh 2,18; Apg 4,7)24Und Jesus antwortete und sprach zu ihnen: Auch ich will euch ein Wort fragen; wenn ihr mir darauf antwortet, will ich euch auch sagen, in welcher Vollmacht ich dies tue. (Mt 22,41; Lk 6,9)25Woher war die Taufe des Johannes? Vom Himmel oder von Menschen? Da überlegten sie bei sich selbst und sprachen: Wenn wir sagen: Vom Himmel, so wird er uns fragen: Warum habt ihr ihm dann nicht geglaubt? (Joh 1,19; Joh 3,27; Joh 5,33)26Wenn wir aber sagen: Von Menschen, so müssen wir die Volksmenge fürchten, denn alle halten Johannes für einen Propheten. (Mt 11,9; Joh 5,33)27Und sie antworteten Jesus und sprachen: Wir wissen es nicht! Da sprach er zu ihnen: So sage ich euch auch nicht, in welcher Vollmacht ich dies tue. (Hi 5,13; Spr 26,4; Mt 11,25; Joh 3,10)
Das Gleichnis von den zwei Söhnen
28Was meint ihr aber? Ein Mensch hatte zwei Söhne. Und er ging zu dem ersten und sprach: Sohn, mache dich auf und arbeite heute in meinem Weinberg!29Der aber antwortete und sprach: Ich will nicht! Danach aber reute es ihn, und er ging. (Mt 27,3; Lk 15,17; 2Kor 7,10)30Und er ging zu dem zweiten und sagte dasselbe. Da antwortete dieser und sprach: Ich [gehe], Herr! und ging nicht. (Lk 15,17)31Wer von diesen beiden hat den Willen des Vaters getan? Sie sprachen zu ihm: Der erste. Da spricht Jesus zu ihnen: Wahrlich, ich sage euch: Die Zöllner und die Huren kommen eher in das Reich Gottes als ihr! (Lk 7,37; Lk 19,1)32Denn Johannes ist zu euch gekommen mit dem Weg der Gerechtigkeit, und ihr habt ihm nicht geglaubt. Die Zöllner und die Huren aber glaubten ihm; und obwohl ihr es gesehen habt, reute es euch nicht nachträglich, sodass ihr ihm geglaubt hättet. (Spr 8,20; Lk 3,12; Lk 7,29; 2Petr 2,21)
Das Gleichnis von dem Hausherrn und den Weingärtnern
33Hört ein anderes Gleichnis: Es war ein gewisser Hausherr, der pflanzte einen Weinberg, zog einen Zaun darum, grub eine Kelter darin, baute einen Wachtturm, verpachtete ihn an Weingärtner und reiste außer Landes. (Ps 80,8; Hl 8,11; Jes 5,2; Mt 20,1; Mt 25,14; Mk 13,34)34Als nun die Zeit der Früchte nahte, sandte er seine Knechte zu den Weingärtnern, um seine Früchte in Empfang zu nehmen.35Aber die Weingärtner ergriffen seine Knechte und schlugen den einen, den anderen töteten sie, den dritten steinigten sie. (2Chr 24,19; Neh 9,26; Apg 7,52; Hebr 11,36)36Da sandte er wieder andere Knechte, mehr als zuvor; und sie behandelten sie ebenso. (Mt 23,37)37Zuletzt sandte er seinen Sohn zu ihnen und sprach: Sie werden sich vor meinem Sohn scheuen! Jésus dans le Temple

Il renversa les comptoirs des changeurs d’argent[3], ainsi que les chaises des marchands de pigeons, (Mk 11,15; Lk 19,45; Joh 2,13)13et il leur dit: Il est écrit: On appellera ma maison une maison de prière[4], mais vous, vous en faites une caverne de brigands[5]! (Jes 56,7; Jer 7,11)14Des aveugles et des paralysés s’approchèrent de lui dans la cour du Temple et il les guérit.15Quand les chefs des prêtres et les spécialistes de la Loi virent les miracles extraordinaires qu’il venait d’accomplir, quand ils entendirent les cris des enfants dans la cour du Temple: « Hosanna au Fils de David! », ils se mirent en colère16et lui dirent: Tu entends ce qu’ils crient? – Oui, leur répondit Jésus. Et vous, n’avez-vous donc jamais lu cette parole: De la bouche des petits enfants ╵et des nourrissons, tu as tiré la louange[6]. La malédiction du figuier
18Tôt le lendemain matin, en revenant vers la ville, il eut faim. (Mk 11,12; Mk 11,20)19Il aperçut un figuier sur le bord de la route et s’en approcha; mais il n’y trouva que des feuilles. Alors, il dit à l’arbre: Tu ne porteras plus jamais de fruit! A l’instant même, le figuier devint tout sec.20En voyant cela, les disciples furent très étonnés et s’écrièrent: Comment ce figuier est-il devenu sec en un instant?21– Vraiment, je vous l’assure, répondit Jésus, si vous avez la foi, si vous ne doutez pas, non seulement vous pourrez accomplir ce que j’ai fait à ce figuier, mais même si vous dites à cette colline: « Soulève-toi de là et jette-toi dans la mer », cela se fera.22Si vous priez avec foi, tout ce que vous demanderez, vous l’obtiendrez.
L’autorité de Jésus contestée
23Jésus se rendit au Temple et se mit à enseigner. Alors, les chefs des prêtres et les responsables du peuple vinrent le trouver et l’interpellèrent: Par quelle autorité agis-tu ainsi? Qui t’a donné l’autorité de faire cela? (Mk 11,27; Lk 20,1)24Jésus leur répondit: Moi aussi, j’ai une question à vous poser, une seule. Si vous me répondez, je vous dirai à mon tour de quel droit je fais cela.25De qui Jean tenait-il son mandat pour baptiser? De Dieu ou des hommes? Alors ils se mirent à raisonner intérieurement: Si nous disons: « De Dieu », il va nous demander: « Pourquoi alors n’avez-vous pas cru en lui? »26Mais si nous répondons: « Des hommes », nous avons bien lieu de craindre la réaction de la foule, car tout le monde tient Jean pour un prophète.27Ils répondirent donc à Jésus: Nous ne savons pas. Et lui de leur répliquer: Eh bien, moi non plus, je ne vous dirai pas par quelle autorité j’agis comme je le fais.
La parabole des deux fils
28Que pensez-vous de l’histoire que voici? ajouta Jésus. Un homme avait deux fils. Il alla trouver le premier et lui dit: « Mon fils, va aujourd’hui travailler dans notre vigne.29– Je n’en ai pas envie », lui répondit celui-ci. Mais, plus tard, il regretta d’avoir répondu ainsi et se rendit dans la vigne[7].30Le père alla trouver le second fils et lui fit la même demande. Celui-ci lui répondit: « Oui, mon Seigneur, j’y vais! » Mais il n’y alla pas.31Lequel des deux a fait la volonté de son père? – C’est le premier, répondirent-ils. Et Jésus ajouta: Vraiment, je vous l’assure: les collecteurs d’impôts et les prostituées vous précéderont dans le royaume de Dieu.32En effet, Jean est venu, il vous a montré ce qu’est une vie juste, et vous n’avez pas cru en lui – tandis que les collecteurs d’impôts et les prostituées ont cru en lui. Et, bien que vous ayez eu leur exemple sous vos yeux, vous n’avez pas éprouvé les regrets qui auraient pu vous amener enfin à croire en lui.
La culpabilité des chefs religieux juifs
33Ecoutez encore une parabole: Un homme avait une propriété. Il y planta une vigne, l’entoura d’une haie, y creusa un pressoir et y bâtit une tour de guet[8]. Après cela, il la loua à des vignerons et partit en voyage. (Jes 5,1; Mk 12,1; Lk 20,9)34A l’approche des vendanges, il envoya ses serviteurs auprès de ces vignerons pour recevoir le produit qui lui revenait.35Mais les vignerons se précipitèrent sur ces serviteurs: l’un d’eux fut roué de coups, un autre fut tué, un troisième assommé à coups de pierres.36Le propriétaire envoya alors d’autres serviteurs, plus nombreux que les premiers. Mais ils furent reçus de la même manière par les vignerons.37Finalement, il leur envoya son propre fils en se disant: « Pour mon fils au moins, ils auront du respect. »38Mais dès que les vignerons aperçurent le fils, ils se dirent entre eux: « Voilà l’héritier! Venez! Tuons-le! Et récupérons son héritage! »39Ils se jetèrent donc sur lui, le traînèrent hors du vignoble et le tuèrent.40Quand le propriétaire de la vigne viendra, comment agira-t-il envers ces vignerons?41Ils lui répondirent: Il fera exécuter sans pitié ces misérables, puis il confiera le soin de sa vigne à d’autres vignerons qui lui donneront sa part de récolte en temps voulu.42Et Jésus ajouta: N’avez-vous jamais lu dans les Ecritures: La pierre que les constructeurs ╵ont rejetée est devenue la pierre principale, ╵la pierre d’angle. C’est du Seigneur ╵que cela est venu et c’est un prodige à nos yeux[9]. (Ps 118,22)43Voilà pourquoi je vous déclare que le royaume de Dieu vous sera enlevé et sera donné à un peuple qui en produira les fruits.
