Psalm 76

Schlachter 2000

(Jes 24,21; Jes 40,22; Dan 4,28)

Psalm 76

English Standard Version

von Crossway
1 In Judah God is known; his name is great in Israel. (Ps 48,3) 2 His abode has been established in Salem, his dwelling place in Zion. (1Mo 14,18; Ps 9,11; Ps 27,5; Ps 74,2; Kla 2,6) 3 There he broke the flashing arrows, the shield, the sword, and the weapons of war. Selah (Ps 46,9; Hes 39,9) 4 Glorious are you, more majestic than the mountains full of prey. (Jes 14,25; Hes 39,4; Nah 2,13) 5 The stouthearted were stripped of their spoil; they sank into sleep; all the men of war were unable to use their hands. (2Kön 19,35; Ps 13,3; Jes 46,12; Jer 51,39; Nah 3,18) 6 At your rebuke, O God of Jacob, both rider and horse lay stunned. (2Mo 15,1; 2Mo 15,21) 7 But you, you are to be feared! Who can stand before you when once your anger is roused? (Ps 47,2; Ps 130,3) 8 From the heavens you uttered judgment; the earth feared and was still, (2Chr 20,29; 2Chr 20,30; Hab 2,20) 9 when God arose to establish judgment, to save all the humble of the earth. Selah (Ps 9,7; Ps 9,8) 10 Surely the wrath of man shall praise you; the remnant[1] of wrath you will put on like a belt. (2Mo 9,16) 11 Make your vows to the LORD your God and perform them; let all around him bring gifts to him who is to be feared, (1Mo 31,42; 1Mo 31,53; Ps 50,14; Ps 68,29; Ps 89,7; Jes 8,13) 12 who cuts off the spirit of princes, who is to be feared by the kings of the earth. (Ps 47,2; Jes 18,5)
