Sie kamen, um zu schwören und sich eidlich zu verpflichten, im Gesetz Gottes, das durch Mose, den Knecht Gottes, gegeben worden ist, zu wandeln und alle Gebote, Rechte und Satzungen des HERRN, unseres Herrschers, zu halten und zu tun, (5Mo 29,12; 2Chr 34,31; Neh 5,12; Ps 119,106)31auch dass wir unsere Töchter nicht den Völkern des Landes zur Frau geben, noch ihre Töchter für unsere Söhne zur Frau nehmen wollten; (2Mo 34,15; 5Mo 7,3; Esr 9,1; Esr 9,12)32und dass, wenn die Völker des Landes am Sabbattag Waren und allerlei Getreide zum Verkauf brächten, wir sie ihnen am Sabbat und an heiligen Tagen nicht abnehmen, und dass wir im siebten Jahr [die Felder] ruhen lassen und auf alle Schuldforderungen verzichten wollten. (2Mo 23,11; 5Mo 5,12; 5Mo 15,1; Neh 13,15; Jer 17,21)33Und wir legten uns die Verpflichtung auf, jährlich das Drittel eines Schekels für den Dienst im Haus unseres Gottes zu geben: (2Mo 30,12; Neh 10,40)34für die Schaubrote, für das tägliche Speisopfer und das tägliche Brandopfer, [für die Opfer] an den Sabbaten, Neumonden und Festtagen, und für das Geheiligte und für die Sündopfer, um für Israel Sühnung zu erwirken, und für den ganzen Dienst im Haus unseres Gottes. (2Mo 25,30; 3Mo 16,30; 3Mo 24,5; 4Mo 17,12; 4Mo 25,13; 2Chr 29,24; 1Joh 2,1)35Wir warfen auch das Los, wir, die Priester, Leviten und das Volk, wegen der Spenden an Holz, dass wir dieses Jahr für Jahr zu bestimmten Zeiten nach unseren Vaterhäusern zum Haus unseres Gottes bringen wollten, damit es auf dem Altar des HERRN, unseres Gottes, verbrannt werde, wie es im Gesetz geschrieben steht; (3Mo 6,5; Neh 13,31)36auch dass wir jährlich die Erstlinge unseres Landes und die Erstlinge aller Früchte von allen Bäumen, Jahr für Jahr, zum Haus des HERRN bringen wollten; (2Mo 23,19; 5Mo 26,2)37ebenso die Erstgeburt unserer Söhne und unseres Viehs — wie es im Gesetz geschrieben steht — und die Erstlinge unserer Rinder und unserer Schafe; dass wir das alles zum Haus unseres Gottes bringen wollten, zu den Priestern, die im Haus unseres Gottes dienen. (2Mo 13,12; 3Mo 27,26; 4Mo 18,15)38Auch dass wir den Priestern die Erstlinge unseres Mehls und unserer Hebopfer und die Früchte von allen Bäumen, von Most und Öl in die Kammern am Haus unseres Gottes bringen wollten, ebenso den Leviten den Zehnten unseres Bodens; dass die Leviten den Zehnten erheben sollten in allen Städten, wo wir Ackerbau treiben. (3Mo 27,30; 4Mo 15,19; 4Mo 18,12; 5Mo 26,2)39Und der Priester, der Sohn Aarons, soll bei den Leviten sein, wenn sie den Zehnten erheben, und die Leviten sollen den Zehnten von ihrem Zehnten zum Haus unseres Gottes, in die Kammern des Schatzhauses hinaufbringen. (4Mo 18,26; 1Chr 9,26; 2Chr 31,11; Neh 13,12)40Denn in die Kammern sollen die Kinder Israels und die Kinder Levis das Hebopfer vom Korn, Most und Öl bringen, weil dort die Geräte des Heiligtums sind und die Priester, welche dienen, und die Torhüter und Sänger. Und so wollen wir das Haus unseres Gottes nicht im Stich lassen. (Neh 13,10; Ps 122,9)

The Obligations of the Covenant
28“The rest of the people, the priests, the Levites, the gatekeepers, the singers, the temple servants, and all who have separated themselves from the peoples of the lands to the Law of God, their wives, their sons, their daughters, all who have knowledge and understanding, (Esr 2,36; Neh 9,2)29join with their brothers, their nobles, and enter into a curse and an oath to walk in God’s Law that was given by Moses the servant of God, and to observe and do all the commandments of the Lord our Lord and his rules and his statutes. (5Mo 29,12; 5Mo 29,14; 2Kön 23,3; 2Chr 34,31; Neh 5,12; Ps 119,106)30We will not give our daughters to the peoples of the land or take their daughters for our sons. (2Mo 34,16; 5Mo 7,3; Esr 9,12; Esr 9,14)31And if the peoples of the land bring in goods or any grain on the Sabbath day to sell, we will not buy from them on the Sabbath or on a holy day. And we will forego the crops of the seventh year and the exaction of every debt. (3Mo 24,5; 1Chr 9,32; 2Chr 2,4)34We, the priests, the Levites, and the people, have likewise cast lots for the wood offering, to bring it into the house of our God, according to our fathers’ houses, at times appointed, year by year, to burn on the altar of the Lord our God, as it is written in the Law. (3Mo 6,12; Neh 11,1; Neh 13,31; Jes 40,16)35We obligate ourselves to bring the firstfruits of our ground and the firstfruits of all fruit of every tree, year by year, to the house of the Lord; (2Mo 23,19; 2Mo 34,26; 3Mo 19,23; 4Mo 18,12; 5Mo 26,2)36also to bring to the house of our God, to the priests who minister in the house of our God, the firstborn of our sons and of our cattle, as it is written in the Law, and the firstborn of our herds and of our flocks; (2Mo 13,2; 2Mo 13,12; 3Mo 27,26; 4Mo 18,15)37and to bring the first of our dough, and our contributions, the fruit of every tree, the wine and the oil, to the priests, to the chambers of the house of our God; and to bring to the Levites the tithes from our ground, for it is the Levites who collect the tithes in all our towns where we labor. (1Chr 26,20)39For the people of Israel and the sons of Levi shall bring the contribution of grain, wine, and oil to the chambers, where the vessels of the sanctuary are, as well as the priests who minister, and the gatekeepers and the singers.
