1 Im zehnten Jahr, am zwölften Tag des zehnten Monats, erging das Wort des HERRN an mich folgendermaßen: (Hes 24,1; Hes 26,1) 2 Menschensohn, richte dein Angesicht gegen den Pharao, den König von Ägypten, und weissage gegen ihn und gegen ganz Ägypten! (Jes 19,1; Jer 25,17; Jer 43,10; Jer 44,30; Hes 30,1; Joe 4,19) 3 Rede und sprich: So spricht GOTT, der Herr: Siehe, ich komme über dich, Pharao, du König von Ägypten, du großes Seeungeheuer, das mitten in seinen Strömen liegt und spricht: »Mein Strom gehört mir, und ich habe ihn mir gemacht!« (Jes 27,1; Hes 28,2; Hes 29,9; Hes 32,2) 4 So will ich dir denn Haken in deine Kinnbacken legen und die Fische in deinen Strömen an deine Schuppen hängen; und ich will dich herausziehen aus deinen Strömen samt allen Fischen in deinen Strömen, die an deinen Schuppen hängen. (Hi 40,26; Jes 37,29; Hes 38,4) 5 Und ich will dich samt allen Fischen in deinen Strömen in die Wüste schleudern, dass du auf dem freien Feld liegen bleibst. Man wird dich weder auflesen noch einsammeln, sondern ich will dich den Tieren des Feldes und den Vögeln des Himmels zum Fraß geben! (Jer 25,33; Hes 39,17) 6 Dann sollen alle Einwohner Ägyptens erkennen, dass ich der HERR bin, weil sie für das Haus Israel [wie] ein Rohrstab gewesen sind:[1] (2Kön 18,21; Kla 4,17; Hes 28,22; Hes 28,26; Hes 29,9; Hes 29,16) 7 Wenn sie dich in die Hand nahmen, so knicktest du ein und durchstachst ihnen die ganze Schulter; und wenn sie sich auf dich lehnten, so zerbrachst du und lähmtest ihre Hüften. (Jes 20,5; Jes 30,2; Jer 2,36; Jer 37,5; Hes 17,15) 8 Darum, so spricht GOTT, der Herr: Siehe, ich will das Schwert über dich bringen und Menschen und Vieh in dir ausrotten. (Hes 29,19; Hes 30,4; Hes 32,10) 9 Und das Land Ägypten soll zur Wüste und Einöde werden; und sie sollen erkennen, dass ich der HERR bin. Weil [der Pharao] sagt: »Der Strom gehört mir, und ich habe ihn gemacht!«, (Jes 2,12; Jes 2,17; Hes 29,3) 10 darum, siehe, komme ich über dich und über deine Ströme, und ich will das Land Ägypten zu Trümmerstätten machen, zu einer schrecklichen Einöde, von Migdol bis nach Syene, bis an die Grenze von Kusch. (Jer 44,1; Jer 46,14; Hes 30,6; Hes 30,12) 11 Kein Fuß eines Menschen soll es durchwandern, auch kein Fuß eines Tieres soll es durchwandern, und es soll 40 Jahre lang unbewohnt bleiben. (Jer 25,11; Hes 29,19) 12 Und ich will das Land Ägypten zu einer schrecklichen Wüste machen inmitten verwüsteter Länder, und seine Städte sollen unter zerstörten Städten 40 Jahre lang verwüstet sein. Aber die Ägypter will ich unter die Heidenvölker zerstreuen und in die Länder versprengen. (Hes 29,11; Hes 30,7; Hes 30,23; Hes 30,26) 13 Dennoch spricht GOTT, der Herr, so: Wenn die 40 Jahre vollendet sind, will ich die Ägypter aus den Völkern, unter die sie zerstreut worden sind, wieder zusammenbringen; (Jes 19,23; Jer 46,26) 14 und ich will das Geschick der Ägypter wenden; ja, in das Land Patros,[2] in das Land ihres Ursprungs, will ich sie zurückbringen, dass sie dort ein geringes Königreich sein sollen. (Jes 11,11; Hes 30,14) 15 Ja, es soll geringer sein als andere Königreiche, sodass es sich künftig nicht über die Völker erheben wird. Denn ich will sie so vermindern, dass sie nicht mehr über die Völker herrschen werden. (Hes 17,6; Hes 17,14; Hes 29,14; Hes 31,2) 16 Sie werden auch für das Haus Israel künftig keine Zuflucht mehr sein, die ihre Missetat in Erinnerung bringt, wenn sie sich zu ihnen wenden. Und sie sollen erkennen, dass ich GOTT, der Herr, bin. (Jes 2,22; Jer 2,36; Hes 28,26; Hes 36,5) 17 Und es geschah im siebenundzwanzigsten Jahr, im ersten Monat, am ersten Tag des Monats, da erging das Wort des HERRN an mich folgendermaßen: (Hes 29,1) 18 Menschensohn, Nebukadnezar, der König von Babel, hat seine Heeresmacht schweren Dienst tun lassen gegen Tyrus. Alle Häupter sind geschoren und alle Schultern zerschunden; aber Lohn ist ihm und seinem Heer von Tyrus nicht zuteilgeworden für den Dienst, den er gegen sie tun musste. (Hes 26,7) 19 Darum, so spricht GOTT, der Herr: Siehe, ich will Nebukadnezar, dem König von Babel, das Land Ägypten geben, dass er sich dessen Reichtum aneigne und es ausraube und ausplündere; das soll seinem Heer als Lohn zuteilwerden! (Jer 43,1; Hes 30,10) 20 Als Sold für seine Arbeit, die er verrichtet hat, will ich ihm das Land Ägypten geben, weil sie für mich gearbeitet haben, spricht GOTT, der Herr. (Jes 45,1; Jer 25,9; Hes 29,19) 21 Zu jener Zeit will ich dem Haus Israel ein Horn hervorsprossen lassen, und dir werde ich es gewähren, den Mund aufzutun in ihrer Mitte; und sie sollen erkennen, dass ich der HERR bin. (Ps 29,11; Ps 68,36; Hes 28,26)

1 In the tenth year, in the tenth month, on the twelfth day of the month, the word of the Lord came to me: (Hes 20,1) 2 “Son of man, set your face against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and prophesy against him and against all Egypt; (Jes 19,1; Hes 2,1; Hes 6,2; Hes 32,2) 3 speak, and say, Thus says the Lord God: “Behold, I am against you, Pharaoh king of Egypt, the great dragon that lies in the midst of his streams, that says, ‘My Nile is my own; I made it for myself.’ (Ps 74,13; Jes 27,1; Jes 51,9; Hes 13,8; Hes 29,9; Hes 32,2) 4 I will put hooks in your jaws, and make the fish of your streams stick to your scales; and I will draw you up out of the midst of your streams, with all the fish of your streams that stick to your scales. (2Kön 19,28; Hes 19,9; Hes 38,4) 5 And I will cast you out into the wilderness, you and all the fish of your streams; you shall fall on the open field, and not be brought together or gathered. To the beasts of the earth and to the birds of the heavens I give you as food. (Jer 8,2; Jer 9,22; Hes 32,4) 6 Then all the inhabitants of Egypt shall know that I am the Lord. “Because you[1] have been a staff of reed to the house of Israel, (2Kön 18,21; Jes 36,6; Hes 6,7) 7 when they grasped you with the hand, you broke and tore all their shoulders; and when they leaned on you, you broke and made all their loins to shake.[2] (Jes 20,5; Jes 30,3; Jes 30,5; Jer 2,36; Jer 37,5; Jer 37,7; Hes 17,17) 8 Therefore thus says the Lord God: Behold, I will bring a sword upon you, and will cut off from you man and beast, (Hes 14,17) 9 and the land of Egypt shall be a desolation and a waste. Then they will know that I am the Lord. “Because you[3] said, ‘The Nile is mine, and I made it,’ (Hes 13,8; Hes 29,3; Hes 29,6) 10 therefore, behold, I am against you and against your streams, and I will make the land of Egypt an utter waste and desolation, from Migdol to Syene, as far as the border of Cush. (Hes 29,9; Hes 30,6; Hes 30,12) 11 No foot of man shall pass through it, and no foot of beast shall pass through it; it shall be uninhabited forty years. (Hes 32,13; Hes 35,7) 12 And I will make the land of Egypt a desolation in the midst of desolated countries, and her cities shall be a desolation forty years among cities that are laid waste. I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and disperse them through the countries. (Jer 46,19; Hes 30,7; Hes 30,23; Hes 30,26) 13 “For thus says the Lord God: At the end of forty years I will gather the Egyptians from the peoples among whom they were scattered, (Jes 19,22; Jer 46,26) 14 and I will restore the fortunes of Egypt and bring them back to the land of Pathros, the land of their origin, and there they shall be a lowly kingdom. (Jes 11,11; Hes 30,14; Hes 39,25) 15 It shall be the most lowly of the kingdoms, and never again exalt itself above the nations. And I will make them so small that they will never again rule over the nations. (Hes 30,13) 16 And it shall never again be the reliance of the house of Israel, recalling their iniquity, when they turn to them for aid. Then they will know that I am the Lord God.” (Jes 30,2; Jes 36,4; Jes 36,6; Kla 4,17; Hes 6,7; Hes 29,6) 17 In the twenty-seventh year, in the first month, on the first day of the month, the word of the Lord came to me: (Hes 20,1) 18 “Son of man, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon made his army labor hard against Tyre. Every head was made bald, and every shoulder was rubbed bare, yet neither he nor his army got anything from Tyre to pay for the labor that he had performed against her. (Hes 2,1; Hes 26,7) 19 Therefore thus says the Lord God: Behold, I will give the land of Egypt to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon; and he shall carry off its wealth[4] and despoil it and plunder it; and it shall be the wages for his army. (Jer 46,13; Hes 30,4; Hes 30,10; Hes 30,24; Hes 32,11; Hes 32,12) 20 I have given him the land of Egypt as his payment for which he labored, because they worked for me, declares the Lord God. (Jes 43,3) 21 “On that day I will cause a horn to spring up for the house of Israel, and I will open your lips among them. Then they will know that I am the Lord.” (Ps 132,17; Hes 6,7; Hes 16,63; Hes 24,27; Hes 33,22; Lk 1,69)
