Josaphat wird getadelt und ordnet die Rechtspflege in Juda
1Aber Josaphat, der König von Juda, kehrte in Frieden heim nach Jerusalem. (2Chr 18,31)2Und Jehu, der Sohn Hananis, der Seher, ging hinaus, ihm entgegen, und sprach zum König Josaphat: »Solltest du so dem Gottlosen helfen und die lieben, welche den HERRN hassen? Deswegen ist Zorn auf dir vonseiten des HERRN! (1Kön 16,1; 1Kön 16,7; 2Chr 18,3; Ps 97,10; Ps 101,4; Ps 139,21)3Dennoch ist etwas Gutes an dir gefunden worden, weil du die Aschera-Standbilder aus dem Land ausgerottet und dein Herz darauf gerichtet hast, Gott zu suchen.« (2Chr 12,12; 2Chr 12,14; 2Chr 17,3; 2Chr 30,18)4Danach blieb Josaphat in Jerusalem; dann ging er wieder aus unter das Volk, von Beerscheba bis zum Bergland von Ephraim, und führte sie zu dem HERRN, dem Gott ihrer Väter, zurück. (2Chr 15,9; Spr 11,30; Dan 12,3)5Und er bestimmte Richter im Land, in allen festen Städten Judas, Stadt für Stadt. (5Mo 16,18)6Und er sprach zu den Richtern: Habt acht, was ihr tut! Denn ihr haltet das Gericht nicht für Menschen, sondern für den HERRN, und er ist mit euch beim Urteilsspruch. (5Mo 1,17; Ps 82,1; Pred 5,7; Kol 3,23)7So sei denn der Schrecken des HERRN über euch; nehmt euch in acht, was ihr tut! Denn bei dem HERRN, unserem Gott, gibt es weder Unrecht noch Ansehen der Person noch Bestechlichkeit. (1Mo 18,25; 2Mo 18,21; 5Mo 10,17; 5Mo 32,4; Spr 1,7; Jes 11,3; Lk 18,2; Röm 2,11; Röm 9,14; Gal 2,6; 1Petr 1,17)8Auch in Jerusalem bestimmte Josaphat etliche von den Leviten und Priestern und Familienhäuptern Israels für das Gericht des HERRN und für die Rechtshändel, als sie wieder nach Jerusalem gekommen waren. (5Mo 17,8; 1Chr 26,29)9Und er gebot ihnen und sprach: So sollt ihr handeln in der Furcht des HERRN, in Wahrheit und mit ungeteiltem Herzen: (2Sam 23,3; 2Chr 16,9; Spr 11,3; Spr 11,20; 1Kor 4,2)10In jedem Rechtsstreit, der vor euch gebracht wird vonseiten eurer Brüder, die in ihren Städten wohnen, sei es zwischen Blut[tat] und Blut[tat] oder zwischen Gesetz und Gebot, Satzungen und Rechten, sollt ihr sie verwarnen, damit sie sich nicht an dem HERRN versündigen und sein Zorn nicht über euch und eure Brüder komme. So sollt ihr handeln, damit ihr euch nicht schuldig macht! (4Mo 17,11; 5Mo 21,5; 2Chr 28,13; 2Chr 32,25; 2Chr 34,21; Hes 3,18; Mal 2,7)11Und siehe, Amarja, der oberste Priester, ist über euch gesetzt für alle Angelegenheiten des HERRN; Sebadja aber, der Sohn Ismaels, der Fürst des Hauses Juda, für alle Angelegenheiten des Königs, und als Vorsteher stehen euch die Leviten zur Verfügung. Seid stark und handelt! Der HERR aber sei mit dem Rechtschaffenen! (Jos 1,7; Jos 1,9; 2Sam 10,12; 1Chr 26,30; 1Kor 16,13; Eph 6,10; 3Joh 1,11)
1Jehoshaphat the king of Judah returned in safety to his house in Jerusalem.2But Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him and said to King Jehoshaphat, “Should you help the wicked and love those who hate the Lord? Because of this, wrath has gone out against you from the Lord. (1Sam 9,9; 1Kön 16,1; 2Chr 16,7; 2Chr 18,1; 2Chr 19,10; 2Chr 20,34; 2Chr 20,37; 2Chr 24,18; 2Chr 32,25; Ps 139,21)3Nevertheless, some good is found in you, for you destroyed the Asheroth out of the land, and have set your heart to seek God.” (1Kön 14,13; 2Chr 12,12; 2Chr 17,6; 2Chr 30,19; Esr 7,10)4Jehoshaphat lived at Jerusalem. And he went out again among the people, from Beersheba to the hill country of Ephraim, and brought them back to the Lord, the God of their fathers. (Jos 24,33)5He appointed judges in the land in all the fortified cities of Judah, city by city, (5Mo 16,18; 2Chr 11,5)6and said to the judges, “Consider what you do, for you judge not for man but for the Lord. He is with you in giving judgment. (5Mo 1,17)7Now then, let the fear of the Lord be upon you. Be careful what you do, for there is no injustice with the Lord our God, or partiality or taking bribes.” (1Mo 18,25; 5Mo 10,17; 5Mo 32,4; Hi 8,3; Hi 34,10; Röm 9,14)8Moreover, in Jerusalem Jehoshaphat appointed certain Levites and priests and heads of families of Israel, to give judgment for the Lord and to decide disputed cases. They had their seat at Jerusalem. (2Chr 17,8; 2Chr 19,6)9And he charged them: “Thus you shall do in the fear of the Lord, in faithfulness, and with your whole heart: (2Sam 23,3; 1Kön 8,61)10whenever a case comes to you from your brothers who live in their cities, concerning bloodshed, law or commandment, statutes or rules, then you shall warn them, that they may not incur guilt before the Lord and wrath may not come upon you and your brothers. Thus you shall do, and you will not incur guilt. (5Mo 17,8; 2Chr 19,2)11And behold, Amariah the chief priest is over you in all matters of the Lord; and Zebadiah the son of Ishmael, the governor of the house of Judah, in all the king’s matters, and the Levites will serve you as officers.
