Psalm 76

English Standard Version

od Crossway
1 In Judah God is known; his name is great in Israel. (Ps 48,3)2 His abode has been established in Salem, his dwelling place in Zion. (Rdz 14,18; Ps 9,11; Ps 27,5; Ps 74,2; Lm 2,6)3 There he broke the flashing arrows, the shield, the sword, and the weapons of war. Selah (Ps 46,9; Ez 39,9)4 Glorious are you, more majestic than the mountains full of prey. (Iz 14,25; Ez 39,4; Na 2,13)5 The stouthearted were stripped of their spoil; they sank into sleep; all the men of war were unable to use their hands. (2 Krl 19,35; Ps 13,3; Iz 46,12; Jer 51,39; Na 3,18)6 At your rebuke, O God of Jacob, both rider and horse lay stunned. (Wj 15,1; Wj 15,21)7 But you, you are to be feared! Who can stand before you when once your anger is roused? (Ps 47,2; Ps 130,3)8 From the heavens you uttered judgment; the earth feared and was still, (2 Krn 20,29; 2 Krn 20,30; Ha 2,20)9 when God arose to establish judgment, to save all the humble of the earth. Selah (Ps 9,7; Ps 9,8)10 Surely the wrath of man shall praise you; the remnant[1] of wrath you will put on like a belt. (Wj 9,16)11 Make your vows to the LORD your God and perform them; let all around him bring gifts to him who is to be feared, (Rdz 31,42; Rdz 31,53; Ps 50,14; Ps 68,29; Ps 89,7; Iz 8,13)12 who cuts off the spirit of princes, who is to be feared by the kings of the earth. (Ps 47,2; Iz 18,5)
