Psalm 57

English Standard Version

od Crossway
1 Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me, for in you my soul takes refuge; in the shadow of your wings I will take refuge, till the storms of destruction pass by.[1] (Ps 4,1; Ps 17,8; Ps 56,1; Ps 91,4; Iz 26,20)2 I cry out to God Most High, to God who fulfills his purpose for me. (Ps 138,8)3 He will send from heaven and save me; he will put to shame him who tramples on me. Selah God will send out his steadfast love and his faithfulness! (Ps 18,16; Ps 36,5; Ps 40,11; Ps 43,3; Ps 56,1; Ps 144,5; Ps 144,7)4 My soul is in the midst of lions; I lie down amid fiery beasts— the children of man, whose teeth are spears and arrows, whose tongues are sharp swords. (Ps 52,2; Ps 55,21; Ps 58,6; Ps 59,7; Ps 64,3; Przyp 12,18; Przyp 30,14; Jer 9,8)5 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens! Let your glory be over all the earth! (Ps 108,5; Ps 113,4)6 They set a net for my steps; my soul was bowed down. They dug a pit in my way, but they have fallen into it themselves. Selah (Job 18,8; Ps 7,15; Ps 145,14; Ps 146,8)7 My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast! I will sing and make melody! (Ps 108,1; Ps 112,7)8 Awake, my glory![2] Awake, O harp and lyre! I will awake the dawn! (Sdz 5,12; 1 Krn 15,16; Ps 16,9)9 I will give thanks to you, O Lord, among the peoples; I will sing praises to you among the nations.10 For your steadfast love is great to the heavens, your faithfulness to the clouds. (Ps 36,5)11 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens! Let your glory be over all the earth! (Ps 5,1)
