A Psalm of David. A song at the dedication of the temple.
1I will extol you, O LORD, for you have drawn me up and have not let my foes rejoice over me. (Ps 13,4; Ps 25,2; Ps 35,19; Ps 35,24; Ps 107,32)2O LORD my God, I cried to you for help, and you have healed me. (Ps 6,2; Ps 88,13)3O LORD, you have brought up my soul from Sheol; you restored me to life from among those who go down to the pit.[1] (Ps 16,10; Ps 28,1)4Sing praises to the LORD, O you his saints, and give thanks to his holy name.[2] (1 Krn 16,4; Ps 50,5; Ps 97,12)5For his anger is but for a moment, and his favor is for a lifetime.[3] Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning. (Job 33,26; Ps 63,3; Ps 103,9; Ps 126,5; Iz 26,20; Iz 54,7; Iz 54,8; 2 Kor 4,17; 2 Kor 4,18)6As for me, I said in my prosperity, “I shall never be moved.” (Job 29,18; Ps 10,6; Przyp 1,32)7By your favor, O LORD, you made my mountain stand strong; you hid your face; I was dismayed. (Pwt 31,17; 2 Sm 5,9; 2 Sm 24,10; Ps 104,29)8To you, O LORD, I cry, and to the Lord I plead for mercy: (Ps 142,1)9“What profit is there in my death,[4] if I go down to the pit?[5] Will the dust praise you? Will it tell of your faithfulness? (Ps 6,5)10Hear, O LORD, and be merciful to me! O LORD, be my helper!” (Ps 27,7)11You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; you have loosed my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness, (Wj 15,20; 2 Sm 6,14; Ps 149,3; Ps 150,4; Jer 31,4; Jer 31,13; Lm 5,15)12that my glory may sing your praise and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks to you forever! (Ps 16,9)
