Przypowieści Salomona 19

English Standard Version

od Crossway
1 Better is a poor person who walks in his integrity than one who is crooked in speech and is a fool. (Ps 26,1; Ps 26,11; Przyp 14,2; Przyp 20,7; Przyp 28,6)2 Desire[1] without knowledge is not good, and whoever makes haste with his feet misses his way. (Przyp 21,5; Przyp 28,20; Przyp 29,20)3 When a man’s folly brings his way to ruin, his heart rages against the Lord. (Ps 37,7; Przyp 11,3; Iz 8,21; Ap 16,11)4 Wealth brings many new friends, but a poor man is deserted by his friend. (Przyp 14,20)5 A false witness will not go unpunished, and he who breathes out lies will not escape. (Pwt 19,16; Przyp 6,19; Przyp 12,19; Przyp 21,28)6 Many seek the favor of a generous man,[2] and everyone is a friend to a man who gives gifts. (Przyp 17,8)7 All a poor man’s brothers hate him; how much more do his friends go far from him! He pursues them with words, but does not have them.[3] (Ps 38,11; Przyp 19,4)8 Whoever gets sense loves his own soul; he who keeps understanding will discover good. (Przyp 15,32; Przyp 16,20)9 A false witness will not go unpunished, and he who breathes out lies will perish. (Przyp 19,5)10 It is not fitting for a fool to live in luxury, much less for a slave to rule over princes. (Przyp 17,7; Przyp 26,1; Przyp 30,22; Kazn 10,6)11 Good sense makes one slow to anger, and it is his glory to overlook an offense. (Przyp 14,29)12 A king’s wrath is like the growling of a lion, but his favor is like dew on the grass. (Ps 133,3; Przyp 14,35; Przyp 16,14; Przyp 20,2; Przyp 28,15; Oz 14,5; Mi 5,7)13 A foolish son is ruin to his father, and a wife’s quarreling is a continual dripping of rain. (Przyp 10,1; Przyp 17,21; Przyp 21,9; Przyp 27,15)14 House and wealth are inherited from fathers, but a prudent wife is from the Lord. (Przyp 18,22; 2 Kor 12,14)15 Slothfulness casts into a deep sleep, and an idle person will suffer hunger. (Job 4,13; Przyp 6,9; Przyp 10,4; Przyp 20,4; Przyp 20,13; Przyp 23,21)16 Whoever keeps the commandment keeps his life; he who despises his ways will die. (Przyp 13,13; Łk 10,28)17 Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed. (Pwt 15,7; Przyp 12,14; Przyp 22,9; Przyp 28,27; Kazn 11,1; Mt 10,42; Mt 25,40; Łk 6,38; 2 Kor 9,6; Hbr 6,10)18 Discipline your son, for there is hope; do not set your heart on putting him to death. (Pwt 21,18; Przyp 13,24; Przyp 23,13)19 A man of great wrath will pay the penalty, for if you deliver him, you will only have to do it again.20 Listen to advice and accept instruction, that you may gain wisdom in the future. (Ps 37,37)21 Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand. (Job 23,13; Ps 33,10; Iz 14,26; Iz 46,10)22 What is desired in a man is steadfast love, and a poor man is better than a liar.23 The fear of the Lord leads to life, and whoever has it rests satisfied; he will not be visited by harm. (Kpł 26,6; Ps 25,13; Przyp 10,16; Przyp 11,19; Iz 38,5; Mk 10,30)24 The sluggard buries his hand in the dish and will not even bring it back to his mouth. (Przyp 15,19; Przyp 20,4; Przyp 26,15; Mt 26,23; Mk 14,20)25 Strike a scoffer, and the simple will learn prudence; reprove a man of understanding, and he will gain knowledge. (Pwt 13,6; Ps 1,1; Przyp 9,8; Przyp 21,11)26 He who does violence to his father and chases away his mother is a son who brings shame and reproach. (Przyp 10,5; Przyp 17,2)27 Cease to hear instruction, my son, and you will stray from the words of knowledge. (2 P 2,21)28 A worthless witness mocks at justice, and the mouth of the wicked devours iniquity. (Job 15,16; Job 34,7; Przyp 18,8)29 Condemnation is ready for scoffers, and beating for the backs of fools. (Przyp 10,13; Przyp 18,6; Przyp 19,25; Przyp 26,3)
