1Potem zobaczyłem Baranka, stojącego na górze Syjon, a wraz z nim—sto czterdzieści cztery tysiące tych, którzy mają wypisane na czołach Jego imię oraz imię Ojca.2Usłyszałem też z nieba odgłos podobny do huku wielkiego wodospadu lub potężnego grzmotu. Brzmiał on jak dźwięk muzyki granej przez wielu harfiarzy.3I usłyszałem nową pieśń, śpiewaną przed tronem Boga, przed czterema istotami i przed starszymi. Nikt oprócz stu czterdziestu czterech tysięcy, uratowanych przez Boga z ziemi, nie mógł nauczyć się tej pieśni.4Ludzie ci, za życia na ziemi, trzymali się z dala od rozwiązłości seksualnej i są bez skazy—zawsze okazują posłuszeństwo Barankowi. Zostali uratowani z ziemi i są szczególnie cenni dla Boga i Baranka.5Z ich ust nigdy nie wyszło żadne kłamstwo—są nienaganni!
Trzech aniołów
6Następnie zobaczyłem anioła: leciał środkiem nieba i miał ogłosić mieszkańcom ziemi wieczną dobrą nowinę—miał dotrzeć z nią do każdego narodu, plemienia, języka i ludu.7Potężnym głosem wołał on: „Nadszedł czas Bożego sądu! Okażcie więc respekt Bogu i oddajcie cześć Temu, który stworzył niebo, lądy, morza i wszystkie źródła wód!”.8Zaraz po nim pojawił się inny anioł, wołający: „Upadł wielki Babilon, który upajał wszystkie narody świata swoją rozwiązłością!”.9Za nim pojawił się trzeci anioł. Potężnym głosem wołał on: „Ci, którzy pokłonią się bestii i jej posągowi oraz przyjmą jej znak na rękę lub czoło,10doświadczą Bożego gniewu i nie będzie dla nich litości! Na oczach świętych aniołów oraz Baranka będą cierpieć w ogniu i siarce.11Dym z palącego ich ognia będzie się unosił na wieki, będą oni bowiem cierpieć dzień i noc, bez chwili wytchnienia. Taka kara spotka ludzi, którzy oddali cześć bestii i jej posągowi oraz przyjęli znak jej imienia!”.12Niech te słowa zachęcają świętych do wytrwałości, posłuszeństwa Bożym przykazaniom i zaufania Jezusowi.13Potem usłyszałem głos z nieba: —Zapisz te słowa: „Szczęśliwi ci, którzy umierają, wierząc Panu. Duch Święty potwierdza, że odpoczną oni po swojej ciężkiej pracy i otrzymają nagrodę za to, czego dokonali, żyjąc na ziemi”.
Czas żniwa
14Następnie zobaczyłem biały obłok, na którym siedział ktoś, kto wyglądał jak Syn Człowieczy. Na głowie miał złoty wieniec, a w dłoni trzymał ostry sierp.15Wtedy ze świątyni wyszedł anioł i głośno zawołał do Tego, który siedział na obłoku: „Ziemia dojrzała już do żniwa, zacznij więc zbiory!”.16Wówczas Ten, który siedział na obłoku, zebrał z niej plon.17Wtedy wyszedł ze świątyni inny anioł—on również trzymał w ręku ostry sierp.18Od strony ołtarza nadszedł wtedy następny anioł, mający władzę nad ogniem. Głośno zawołał on do anioła trzymającego sierp: „Zbierz z ziemi grona winorośli, bo już dojrzały i są gotowe na sąd!”.19Wówczas anioł, który miał w dłoni sierp, zebrał z ziemi grona i wsypał je do wielkiej tłoczni Bożego gniewu.20Tłocznia ta znajdowała się poza miastem. Gdy wyciśnięto grona, wypłynęła z niej rzeka krwi—miała ona trzysta kilometrów długości i była tak głęboką, że sięgała wędzideł koni.
1Then I looked, and behold, on Mount Zion stood the Lamb, and with him 144,000 who had his name and his Father’s name written on their foreheads. (Ps 2,6; Hbr 12,22; Ap 3,12; Ap 5,6; Ap 7,3; Ap 7,4)2And I heard a voice from heaven like the roar of many waters and like the sound of loud thunder. The voice I heard was like the sound of harpists playing on their harps, (Ap 1,15; Ap 5,8; Ap 6,1; Ap 15,2; Ap 19,6)3and they were singing a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and before the elders. No one could learn that song except the 144,000 who had been redeemed from the earth. (Ap 2,17; Ap 5,9; Ap 19,12)4It is these who have not defiled themselves with women, for they are virgins. It is these who follow the Lamb wherever he goes. These have been redeemed from mankind as firstfruits for God and the Lamb, (2 Kor 11,2; Jk 1,18; Ap 3,4; Ap 17,14)5and in their mouth no lie was found, for they are blameless. (Ps 32,2; Iz 63,8; So 3,13; Jan 1,47; Jud 1,24)
The Messages of the Three Angels
6Then I saw another angel flying directly overhead, with an eternal gospel to proclaim to those who dwell on earth, to every nation and tribe and language and people. (Ap 3,10; Ap 8,13)7And he said with a loud voice, “Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of his judgment has come, and worship him who made heaven and earth, the sea and the springs of water.” (Neh 9,6; Ap 4,11; Ap 8,10; Ap 11,13; Ap 15,4; Ap 16,4)8Another angel, a second, followed, saying, “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great, she who made all nations drink the wine of the passion[1] of her sexual immorality.” (Iz 21,9; Jer 51,7; Jer 51,8; Dn 4,30; Ap 16,19; Ap 17,5; Ap 18,2; Ap 18,3; Ap 18,10)9And another angel, a third, followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and its image and receives a mark on his forehead or on his hand, (Ap 13,15; Ap 13,16)10he also will drink the wine of God’s wrath, poured full strength into the cup of his anger, and he will be tormented with fire and sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. (Job 21,20; Iz 1,22; Ap 16,19; Ap 18,6; Ap 20,10)11And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever, and they have no rest, day or night, these worshipers of the beast and its image, and whoever receives the mark of its name.” (Rdz 19,28; Iz 34,10; Ap 4,8; Ap 14,9; Ap 18,18; Ap 19,3)12Here is a call for the endurance of the saints, those who keep the commandments of God and their faith in Jesus.[2] (Ap 12,17; Ap 13,10)13And I heard a voice from heaven saying, “Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.” “Blessed indeed,” says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow them!” (Kazn 4,2; 1 Kor 15,18; 1 Tes 4,16; Ap 6,11; Ap 20,6)
The Harvest of the Earth
14Then I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and seated on the cloud one like a son of man, with a golden crown on his head, and a sharp sickle in his hand. (Ap 1,13; Ap 6,2)15And another angel came out of the temple, calling with a loud voice to him who sat on the cloud, “Put in your sickle, and reap, for the hour to reap has come, for the harvest of the earth is fully ripe.” (Jer 51,33; Jl 3,13; Mt 13,39; Mk 4,29; Ap 14,18; Ap 15,6; Ap 16,17)16So he who sat on the cloud swung his sickle across the earth, and the earth was reaped.17Then another angel came out of the temple in heaven, and he too had a sharp sickle.18And another angel came out from the altar, the angel who has authority over the fire, and he called with a loud voice to the one who had the sharp sickle, “Put in your sickle and gather the clusters from the vine of the earth, for its grapes are ripe.” (Jl 3,13; Ap 16,8)19So the angel swung his sickle across the earth and gathered the grape harvest of the earth and threw it into the great winepress of the wrath of God. (Ap 19,15)20And the winepress was trodden outside the city, and blood flowed from the winepress, as high as a horse’s bridle, for 1,600 stadia.[3] (Iz 63,3; Lm 1,15; Hbr 13,12; Ap 19,14)
