1روح خداوند بر من است. خداوند مرا برگزيده تا به رنجديدگان بشارت دهم، دلشكستگان را شفا بخشم، به اسيران مژدهٔ آزادی دهم و كوران را بينا سازم.2او مرا فرستاده تا به قوم او كه سوگوارند تسلی دهم و بگويم كه زمان رحمت خداوند برای ايشان و روز غضب او برای دشمنانشان فرا رسيده است.3من غم مردم ماتم زده اورشليم را به شادی و سرور، و نوحهٔ آنان را به سرود حمد و ستايش تبديل خواهم كرد. آنان همچون درختان به دست خداوند كاشته خواهند شد و آنچه را كه راست و درست است انجام داده، باعث سرافرازی و ستايش وی خواهند بود.4ايشان خرابههای قديمی را بازسازی خواهند كرد و شهرهايی را كه از مدتها پيش ويران بودهاند آباد خواهند نمود.5ای قوم من، بيگانگان شما را خدمت خواهند كرد. ايشان گلههايتان را خواهند چرانيد و زمينهايتان را شخم خواهند زد و از باغهايتان نگهداری خواهند كرد.6شما«كاهنان خداوند» و«خدمتگزاران خدای ما» ناميده خواهيد شد. گنجهای قومها را تصاحب خواهيد كرد و ثروت آنان از آن شما خواهد شد.7رسوايی و سرافكندگی شما پايان خواهد يافت و سعادت مضاعف و شادی ابدی نصيبتان خواهد شد.8خداوند میفرمايد: «عدل و انصاف را دوست دارم و از غارت و ستم بيزارم. پاداش رنج و زحمت قوم خود را خواهم داد و با ايشان عهد جاودانی خواهم بست.9فرزندانشان در ميان قومهای جهان معروف خواهند شد. هر كه آنان را ببيند اعتراف خواهد كرد كه قوم برگزيده و مبارک خداوند هستند.»10اورشليم میگويد: «خداوند خوشی عظيمی به من داده و مرا شاد ساخته است! او لباس نجات و ردای عدالت را به من پوشانده است! من مانند دامادی هستم كه بر سرش تاج نهادهاند و همچون عروسی هستم كه با زيورآلات، خود را آراسته است.11خداوند عدالت خود را در تمام جهان آشكار خواهد كرد و همهٔ قومها او را ستايش خواهند نمود. عدالت او در باغ جهان خواهد روييد و شكوفه خواهد آورد!»
1The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor;[1] he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound;[2] (مزامير 45:7; مزامير 146:7; اشعيا 11:2; اشعيا 42:1; اشعيا 45:13; اشعيا 48:16; نوشته‌ء لوقا 4:18)2to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn; (لاويان 25:10; اشعيا 34:8)3to grant to those who mourn in Zion— to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit; that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he may be glorified.[3] (مزامير 45:7; اشعيا 28:5; اشعيا 60:21; اشعيا 61:10; نوشته ء يوحنا 15:8; يهودى نژاد 1:9)4They shall build up the ancient ruins; they shall raise up the former devastations; they shall repair the ruined cities, the devastations of many generations. (اشعيا 58:12; عاموس 9:14)5Strangers shall stand and tend your flocks; foreigners shall be your plowmen and vinedressers; (اشعيا 14:2; اشعيا 60:10)6but you shall be called the priests of the Lord; they shall speak of you as the ministers of our God; you shall eat the wealth of the nations, and in their glory you shall boast. (خروج 19:6; اشعيا 60:5; اشعيا 60:11; اشعيا 60:16; يوئيل 1:9; 1پطرس 2:9)7Instead of your shame there shall be a double portion; instead of dishonor they shall rejoice in their lot; therefore in their land they shall possess a double portion; they shall have everlasting joy. (اشعيا 40:2; اشعيا 54:7; زكريا 9:12)8For I the Lord love justice; I hate robbery and wrong;[4] I will faithfully give them their recompense, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them. (مزامير 11:7; اشعيا 40:10; اشعيا 49:4; اشعيا 55:3; اشعيا 59:15)9Their offspring shall be known among the nations, and their descendants in the midst of the peoples; all who see them shall acknowledge them, that they are an offspring the Lord has blessed.10I will greatly rejoice in the Lord; my soul shall exult in my God, for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation; he has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself like a priest with a beautiful headdress, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
