1خداوند زمين را ويران و متروک خواهد كرد؛ پوستهاش را خراب كرده، ساكنانش را پراكنده خواهد ساخت.2همه به يک سرنوشت دچار خواهند شد: كاهن و غيركاهن، نوكر و ارباب، كنيز و خاتون، خريدار و فروشنده، قرض دهنده و قرض گيرنده، برنده و بازنده.3زمين به کلی خالی و غارت خواهد شد. اين را خداوند فرموده است.4زمين خشک و پژمرده میشود و بلنديهای آن پست میگردد.5مردم روی زمين از احكام و اوامر خدا سرپيچی كرده، عهد جاودانی او را شكستهاند؛6بنابراين جهان دچار لعنت شده است. ساكنان آن تاوان گناهان خود را پس میدهند. زمين سوخته و عده كمی از مردم باقی ماندهاند.7محصول انگور كم شده و شراب ناياب گرديده است. آنانی كه شاد بودند اكنون غمگينند.8ديگر نوای دلنشين دف و چنگ شنيده نمیشود. آن روزهای خوش به سر آمده است.9ديگر بزم می و مطرب وجود ندارد و شراب به كام نوشندگانش تلخ است.10در شهر هرج و مرج است و مردم درِ خانهٔ خود را محكم میبندند تا كسی وارد نشود.11در كوچهها فرياد آنانی به گوش میرسد كه به دنبال شراب میگردند. شاديها از بين رفته و خوشيها از روی زمين رخت بربسته است.12شهر ويران گشته و دروازههايش شكسته شده و از بين رفتهاند.13در تمام ممالک دنيا اين اتفاق خواهد افتاد. دنيا مانند درخت زيتونی خواهد بود كه تكانيده شده باشد، و يا خوشهٔ انگوری كه ميوهاش را چيده باشند.14كسانی كه باقی بمانند از شادی فرياد خواهند زد و آواز خواهند خواند. آنان كه در غرب هستند بزرگی خداوند را خواهند ستود.15و آنانی كه در شرق هستند او را سپاس خواهند گفت. ساكنان جزاير نيز خداوند، خدای اسرائيل را پرستش خواهند كرد16و از سرزمينهای دور دست صدای مردم را خواهيم شنيد كه در وصف خدای عادل سرود میخوانند. اما افسوس! افسوس كه بدكاران و خيانتپیشگان به شرارت خود ادامه میدهند. اين مرا غمگين و نااميد میكند.17ای مردم دنيا بدانيد كه ترس و گودال و دام در انتظار شماست.18اگر از ترس فرار كنيد در گودال خواهيد افتاد، و اگر از گودال بيرون بياييد در دام گرفتار خواهيد شد. از آسمان به شدت باران خواهد باريد و اساس زمين تكان خواهد خورد.19زمين در هم خواهد شكست و خرد شده، از هم خواهد پاشيد.20زمين مانند مستی است كه افتان و خيزان راه میرود و مثل خيمهای است كه در برابر طوفان تكان میخورد. دنيا زير بار گناهش خم شده و يک روز خواهد افتاد و ديگر برنخواهد خاست.21در آن روز، خداوند نيروهايی را كه در آسمان هستند و قدرتمندانی را كه بر زمين حكومت میكنند مجازات خواهد كرد.22آنان مانند اسيرانی كه در سياهچال زندانی هستند نگه داری خواهند شد تا روز محاكمه فرا رسد.23ماه تاريک خواهد شد و خورشيد ديگر نور نخواهد داد، زيرا خداوند قادر متعال سلطنت خواهد كرد. او بر كوه صهيون جلوس فرموده، در اورشليم حكومت خواهد كرد و رهبران دنيا شكوه و جلال او را خواهند ديد.
1Behold, the Lord will empty the earth[1] and make it desolate, and he will twist its surface and scatter its inhabitants. (اشعيا 13:9)2And it shall be, as with the people, so with the priest; as with the slave, so with his master; as with the maid, so with her mistress; as with the buyer, so with the seller; as with the lender, so with the borrower; as with the creditor, so with the debtor. (اشعيا 3:1; اِرميا 15:10; مراثی 4:16; حزقيال نبی 7:12; هوشع 4:9)3The earth shall be utterly empty and utterly plundered; for the Lord has spoken this word. (اشعيا 1:20; اشعيا 24:1; اشعيا 24:6)4The earth mourns and withers; the world languishes and withers; the highest people of the earth languish. (اشعيا 16:8; هوشع 4:3)5The earth lies defiled under its inhabitants; for they have transgressed the laws, violated the statutes, broken the everlasting covenant. (اعداد 35:33; اشعيا 2:6; اشعيا 2:8)6Therefore a curse devours the earth, and its inhabitants suffer for their guilt; therefore the inhabitants of the earth are scorched, and few men are left. (مزامير 5:10; زكريا 5:3)7The wine mourns, the vine languishes, all the merry-hearted sigh. (يوئيل 1:10; يوئيل 1:12)8The mirth of the tambourines is stilled, the noise of the jubilant has ceased, the mirth of the lyre is stilled. (اِرميا 7:34; هوشع 2:11; عاموس 8:10)9No more do they drink wine with singing; strong drink is bitter to those who drink it. (عاموس 6:5)10The wasted city is broken down; every house is shut up so that none can enter. (اشعيا 23:1; اشعيا 34:11)11There is an outcry in the streets for lack of wine; all joy has grown dark; the gladness of the earth is banished. (مزامير 144:14; اشعيا 24:7; يوئيل 1:5; يوئيل 1:12)12Desolation is left in the city; the gates are battered into ruins.13For thus it shall be in the midst of the earth among the nations, as when an olive tree is beaten, as at the gleaning when the grape harvest is done. (اشعيا 17:6; ميكاه 7:1)14They lift up their voices, they sing for joy; over the majesty of the Lord they shout from the west.[2]15Therefore in the east[3] give glory to the Lord; in the coastlands of the sea, give glory to the name of the Lord, the God of Israel. (اشعيا 45:6)16From the ends of the earth we hear songs of praise, of glory to the Righteous One. But I say, “I waste away, I waste away. Woe is me! For the windows of heaven are opened, and the foundations of the earth tremble. (اشعيا 19:14; اشعيا 24:5; اشعيا 29:9)21On that day the Lord will punish the host of heaven, in heaven, and the kings of the earth, on the earth. (اشعيا 29:6; ميكاه 4:11)23Then the moon will be confounded and the sun ashamed, for the Lord of hosts reigns on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem, and his glory will be before his elders.
