1درخت خاندان داوود بريده شده است؛ اما يک روز كندهٔ آن جوانه خواهد زد! بلی، از ريشهٔ آن«شاخهای» تازه خواهد روييد.2روح خداوند بر آن«شاخه» قرار خواهد گرفت، يعنی روح حكمت و فهم، روح مشورت و قوت، و روح شناخت و ترس از خداوند.3تمام خوشی او در اطاعت از خداوند خواهد بود. او بر اساس آنچه ديده يا شنيده میشود داوری نخواهد كرد؛4بلكه از حق فقرا و مظلومان دفاع خواهد كرد و از بدكارانی كه بر ايشان ظلم میكنند انتقام خواهد گرفت.5او با عدالت و صداقت حكومت خواهد كرد.6در آن زمان گرگ و بره در كنار هم به سر خواهند برد، پلنگ و بزغاله با هم خواهند خوابيد، گوساله با شير راه خواهد رفت؛ و يک كودک آنها را به هر جا كه بخواهد، خواهد راند.7گاو در كنار خرس خواهد چريد، بچه خرس و گوساله در كنار هم خواهند خوابيد، و شير مانند گاو علف خواهد خورد.8بچهٔ شيرخوار در ميان مارها، بدون خطر بازی خواهد كرد؛ و طفلی كه از شير گرفته شده باشد دست خود را داخل لانهٔ افعی خواهد كرد بیآنكه آسيب ببيند.9هيچ بدی و گزندی در كوه مقدس خدا وجود نخواهد داشت، زيرا همانگونه كه دريا از آب پر است همچنان جهان از شناخت خداوند پر خواهد شد.10در آن روز، آن پادشاه نوظهور خاندان داوود پرچم نجاتی برای تمام قومها خواهد بود و مردم به سوی او خواهند آمد و سرزمين او از شكوه و جلال پر خواهد شد.11در آن زمان خداوند بار ديگر دست خود را دراز خواهد كرد و بازماندگان قوم خود را از آشور، مصر، سودان، حبشه، عيلام، بابل، حمات، و از تمام جزاير و بنادر دور دست به اسرائيل باز خواهد آورد.12او در ميان قومها پرچمی برخواهد افراشت و مردم اسرائيل و يهودا را كه پراكنده شدهاند، از گوشه و كنار دنيا جمع خواهد كرد.13سرانجام دشمنی و كينهای كه ميان اسرائيل و يهودا بود از بين خواهد رفت و آن دو ديگر با هم نخواهند جنگيد.14آنان با هم متحد شده، بر فلسطينيان كه در غرب هستند يورش خواهند برد و اقوامی را كه در شرق سكونت دارند غارت خواهند كرد. سرزمين ادوم و موآب را تصرف خواهند كرد و سرزمين عمون را مطيع خود خواهند ساخت.15خداوند خليج دريای مصر را خشک خواهد ساخت و دست خود را بر رود فرات بلند خواهد كرد و باد تندی خواهد فرستاد تا آن را به هفت نهر تقسيم كند؛ آنگاه مردم را از آن خشكی عبور خواهد داد.16برای بازماندگان قوم او در آشور شاهراهی خواهد بود تا آنان مانند اجداد خود كه از مصر بيرون آمدند، به سرزمين خود بازگردند.
1There shall come forth a shoot from the stump of Jesse, and a branch from his roots shall bear fruit. He shall not judge by what his eyes see, or decide disputes by what his ears hear, (جامعه 1:8; نوشته ء يوحنا 7:24)4but with righteousness he shall judge the poor, and decide with equity for the meek of the earth; and he shall strike the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips he shall kill the wicked. (ايوب 4:9; مزامير 2:9; مزامير 72:2; مزامير 72:4; مزامير 139:19; ملاكی 4:6; 2سالونيکی 2:8)5Righteousness shall be the belt of his waist, and faithfulness the belt of his loins. (افسس 6:14)6The wolf shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the young goat, and the calf and the lion and the fattened calf together; and a little child shall lead them. (اشعيا 65:25; هوشع 2:18)7The cow and the bear shall graze; their young shall lie down together; and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.8The nursing child shall play over the hole of the cobra, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the adder’s den.9They shall not hurt or destroy in all my holy mountain; for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea. (اشعيا 9:21; حزقيال نبی 37:16; زكريا 11:14)14But they shall swoop down on the shoulder of the Philistines in the west, and together they shall plunder the people of the east. They shall put out their hand against Edom and Moab, and the Ammonites shall obey them. (اشعيا 7:20; زكريا 10:11)16And there will be a highway from Assyria for the remnant that remains of his people, as there was for Israel when they came up from the land of Egypt.
