Salmo de David. Quando fugiu de Absalão, seu filho.

1 SENHOR, são muitos os que estão contra mim! São muitos os que procuram fazer-me mal! 

2 Muitos dizem que Deus nunca me salvará. (Pausa) 

3 Mas tu, SENHOR, és o meu escudo protetor, a minha glória, a minha única esperança. Só tu podes erguer a minha cabeça. 

4 Chamei o SENHOR e ele ouviu-me da sua santa habitação. (Pausa) 

5 Então deitei-me, dormi em paz e acordei em segurança, porque o SENHOR estava a vigiar sobre mim. 

6 Ainda que dez mil adversários se levantem de todos os lados, e me cerquem, não terei medo. 

7 “Levanta-te, SENHOR! Salva-me, meu Deus!” Pois tu feres todos os meus inimigos e aos maus partes os dentes. 

8 A salvação vem de ti, SENHOR; a tua bênção está sobre o teu povo! (Pausa)

Save Me, O My God

1 A Psalm of David, when he fled from Absalom his son. O Lord, how many are my foes! Many are rising against me; (2 Sm 15:12; 2 Sm 15:14; 2 Sm 18:31) 

2 many are saying of my soul, “There is no salvation for him in God.” (2 Sm 16:8; Sl 71:11) 

3 But you, O Lord, are a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head. (Gn 15:1; Jó 1:10; Jó 10:15; Sl 27:5; Sl 28:7; Sl 84:9; Sl 119:114) 

4 I cried aloud to the Lord, and he answered me from his holy hill. (Sl 2:6; Sl 6:8; Sl 34:4; Sl 34:6; Sl 60:5; Sl 77:1; Sl 108:6; Sl 142:1) 

5 I lay down and slept; I woke again, for the Lord sustained me. (Lv 26:6; Jó 11:18; Sl 4:8; Pv 3:24) 

6 I will not be afraid of many thousands of people who have set themselves against me all around. (1 Rs 20:12; Sl 23:4; Sl 27:3; Is 22:7) 

7 Arise, O Lord! Save me, O my God! For you strike all my enemies on the cheek; you break the teeth of the wicked. (Nm 10:35; Jó 16:10; Jó 29:17; Sl 7:6; Sl 9:19; Sl 10:12; Sl 58:6)
