1 Louvem o SENHOR! Feliz é aquele que teme e honra o SENHOR e cumpre com alegria os seus mandamentos! 2 Os seus descendentes alcançarão prestígio. Sim, sem dúvida que a descendência daqueles que pertencem a Deus será muito abençoada! 3 Serão ricos e prósperos; as realizações das suas vidas justas hão de permanecer. 4 Ainda que se vejam envolvidos em trevas, a luz sempre surge para os retos, para os que são bondosos, misericordiosos e justos. 5 Ao homem generoso tudo lhe correrá bem; os seus negócios decorrem com honestidade. 6 Um homem assim não será derrotado; ninguém esquecerá a honra de uma pessoa justa. 7 Não terá receio de notícias súbitas desastrosas; o seu coração está seguro porque confia no SENHOR. 8 É por isso que não tem medo, porque sabe de onde vem o seu auxílio, até ver que os seus inimigos serão derrotados. 9 Reparte liberalmente os seus bens com os necessitados; a justiça que pratica terá efeitos duradouros. Tornar-se-á grande e honrado. 10 O homem sem Deus, ao ver isto, fica enraivecido; range os dentes de raiva, consome-se em ódio. Os seus perversos intentos serão frustrados!

1 [1] Praise the Lord! Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who greatly delights in his commandments! (Sl 1:2; Sl 104:35; Sl 111:10; Sl 115:13; Sl 128:1; Sl 128:4) 2 His offspring will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed. (Sl 25:13; Sl 37:26; Sl 102:28; Pv 11:21; Pv 20:7) 3 Wealth and riches are in his house, and his righteousness endures forever. (Sl 111:3; Pv 3:16) 4 Light dawns in the darkness for the upright; he is gracious, merciful, and righteous. (Jó 11:17; Sl 97:11; Mt 1:19) 5 It is well with the man who deals generously and lends; who conducts his affairs with justice. (Sl 37:26) 6 For the righteous will never be moved; he will be remembered forever. (Sl 55:22; Pv 10:7) 7 He is not afraid of bad news; his heart is firm, trusting in the Lord. (Sl 11:1; Sl 57:7; Sl 64:10; Pv 1:33) 8 His heart is steady;[2] he will not be afraid, until he looks in triumph on his adversaries. 9 He has distributed freely; he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures forever; his horn is exalted in honor. (Sl 75:10; 2 Co 9:9) 10 The wicked man sees it and is angry; he gnashes his teeth and melts away; the desire of the wicked will perish! (Jó 8:13; Jó 16:9; Sl 58:8; Mt 8:12; Lc 13:28)
