Die Richter Tola und Jaïr

1 Nach Abimelech stand Tola Ben-Pua auf, um Israel zu helfen. Er stammte aus Issachar und wohnte in Schamir, im Gebirge Efraïm. Sein Großvater hieß Dodo. 

2 23 Jahre lang war er der Richter Israels. Dann starb er und wurde in Schamir begraben. 

3 Nach ihm stand Jaïr aus Gilead auf. Er war 22 Jahre Richter in Israel 

4 und hatte dreißig Söhne, die auf dreißig Eseln ritten und dreißig Ortschaften besaßen. Man nennt sie bis heute die "Zeltdörfer Jaïrs". Sie liegen in Gilead, dem Ostjordanland. 

5 Als Jaïr starb, wurde er in Kamon begraben. 

Von den Ammonitern unterdrückt

6 Und wieder taten die Israeliten, was Jahwe als böse ansah. Sie dienten den Baalen, den Astarten, den Göttern der Syrer und Sidonier, den Göttern der Moabiter, Ammoniter und Philister. Sie kehrten Jahwe den Rücken und wollten nichts mehr von ihm wissen. 

7 Da flammte Jahwes Zorn gegen Israel auf. Er gab sie in die Gewalt der Philister und der Ammoniter. 

8 Noch im selben Jahr eroberten die Ammoniter das Gebiet in Gilead, in dem sie früher gelebt hatten, und unterdrückten die Israeliten dort grausam. 

9 Die Ammoniter überschritten sogar den Jordan und griffen die Stämme Juda, Benjamin und Efraïm an. So gerieten die Israeliten in große Bedrängnis. 

10 Da schrien sie zu Jahwe um Hilfe. "Wir haben gegen dich gesündigt!", riefen sie. "Dich, unseren Gott, haben wir verlassen und den Baalen gedient!" 

11 Jahwe antwortete: "Habe ich euch nicht von den Ägyptern befreit, den Amoritern, Ammonitern und Philistern? 

12 Habe ich euch nicht gerettet, als ihr wegen der Sidonier zu mir geschrien habt und als die Amalekiter und Maoniter euch quälten? 

13 Doch ihr habt mich verlassen und wieder anderen Göttern gedient. Darum werde ich euch jetzt nicht mehr helfen. 

14 Geht und schreit doch zu den Göttern, die ihr euch ausgesucht habt! Sollen sie euch doch retten aus eurer Not!" 

15 Da sagten die Israeliten zu Jahwe: "Wir haben gesündigt. Bestrafe uns, wenn du willst, aber rette uns diesmal noch!" 

16 Darauf entfernten sie die fremden Götterbilder aus ihrer Mitte und verehrten Jahwe. Da konnte er das Elend Israels nicht länger ertragen.

17 Die Ammoniter hatten ihre Truppen zusammengezogen und ihr Lager in Gilead aufgeschlagen. Die Männer Israels hatten ein Lager bei Mizpa bezogen. (1Mo 31,45) 

18 Da sagten sich die führenden Männer von Gilead: "Wir brauchen einen Heerführer, der den Kampf gegen die Ammoniter aufnimmt." Und sie beschlossen: "Diesen Mann werden wir zum Oberhaupt aller Bewohner Gileads machen."

1 وَقَامَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِ أَبِيمَالِكَ تُولَعُ بْنُ فُوَاةَ بْنِ دُودُو مِنْ سِبْطِ يَسَّاكَرَ لإِنْقَاذِ إِسْرَائِيلَ، وَكَانَ هَذَا قَاطِناً فِي شَامِيرَ فِي جَبَلِ أَفْرَايِمَ، 

2 وَظَلَّ قَاضِياً لإِسْرَائِيلَ مُدَّةَ ثَلاثٍ وَعِشْرِينَ سَنَةً، ثُمَّ مَاتَ وَدُفِنَ فِي شَامِيرَ.

3 ثُمَّ تَوَلَّى بَعْدَهُ قَضَاءَ إِسْرَائِيلَ يَائِيرُ الْجِلْعَادِيُّ طَوَالَ اثْنَتَيْنِ وَعِشْرِينَ سَنَةً. 

4 وَكَانَ لِيَائِيرَ ثَلاثُونَ ابْناً يَرْكَبُونَ عَلَى ثَلاثِينَ جَحْشاً وَيَمْلِكُونَ ثَلاثِينَ مَدِينَةً فِي أَرْضِ جِلْعَادَ، وَهِيَ تُدْعَى حَوُّوثَ يَائِيرَ إِلَى هَذَا الْيَوْمِ. 

5 ثُمَّ مَاتَ يَائِيرُ وَدُفِنَ فِي قَامُونَ.

6 وَعَادَ بَنُو إِسْرَائِيلَ يَرْتَكِبُونَ الإِثْمَ فِي عَيْنَيِ الرَّبِّ، وَعَبَدُوا الْبَعْلِيمَ وَعَشْتَارُوثَ وَآلِهَةَ أَرَامَ وَآلِهَةَ صِيدُونَ وَآلِهَةَ بَنِي عَمُّونَ وَآلِهَةَ الْفِلِسْطِينِيِّينَ وَتَرَكُوا الرَّبَّ وَلَمْ يَعْبُدُوهُ. 

7 وَاحْتَدَمَ غَضَبُ الرَّبِّ عَلَى إِسْرَائِيلَ وَسَلَّطَ عَلَيْهِمِ الْفِلِسْطِينِيِّينَ وَبَنِي عَمُّونَ، 

8 مُدَّةَ ثَمَانِي عَشْرَةَ سَنَةً، فَأَذَاقُوا الإِسْرَائِيلِيِّينَ الْمُقِيمِينَ فِي أَرْضِ الأَمُورِيِّينَ فِي جِلْعَادَ. شَرْقِيَّ نَهْرِ الأُرْدُنِّ، سُوءَ الْعَذَابِ 

9 وَعَبَرَ الْعَمُّونِيُّونَ نَهْرَ الأُرْدُنِّ لِمُحَارَبَةِ أَسْبَاطِ يَهُوذَا وَبَنْيَامِينَ وَأَفْرَايِمَ، فَاعْتَرَى الإِسْرَائِيلِيِّينَ ضِيقٌ عَظِيمٌ. 

10 فَاسْتَغَاثُوا بِالرَّبِّ قَائِلِينَ: «لَقَدْ أَخْطَأْنَا إِلَيْكَ لأَنَّنَا تَرَكْنَا إِلَهَنَا وَعَبَدْنَا الْبَعْلِيمَ». 

11 فَأَجَابَهُمُ الرَّبُّ: «أَلَمْ أُنْقِذْكُمْ مِنَ الْمِصْرِيِّينَ وَالأَمُورِيِّينَ وَبَنِي عَمُّونَ وَالْفِلِسْطِينِيِّينَ؟ 

12 وَعِنْدَمَا اسْتَغَثْتُمْ بِي مِنَ الصِّيدُونِيِّينَ وَالْعَمَالِقَةِ وَالْعَمُّونِيِّينَ الَّذِينَ ضَايَقُوكُمْ، أَلَمْ أُخَلِّصْكُمْ؟ 

13 أَمَّا أَنْتُمْ فَقَدْ تَرَكْتُمُونِي وَعَبَدْتُمْ آلِهَةً أُخْرَى، لِهَذَا لَا أَعُودُ أُنْقِذُكُمْ، 

14 فَهَيَّا اسْتَجِيرُوا بِالآلِهَةِ الَّتِي اخْتَرْتُمُوهَا لِتُخَلِّصَكُمْ فِي وَقْتِ ضِيْقِكُمْ». 

15 فَقَالَ بَنُو إِسْرَائِيلَ لِلرَّبِّ: «لَقَدْ أَخْطَأْنَا، فَافْعَلْ بِنَا مَا تَشَاءُ، وَلَكِنْ أَنْقِذْنَا فِي هَذَا الْيَوْمِ». 

16 وَأَزَالُوا الأَوْثَانَ الْغَرِيبَةَ مِنْ وَسَطِهِمْ وَعَبَدُوا الرَّبَّ، فَرَقَّ قَلْبُهُ لِمَشَقَّةِ إِسْرَائِيلَ. 

17 فَاحْتَشَدَ الْعَمُّونِيُّونَ وَعَسْكَرُوا فِي جِلْعَادَ، وَتَجَمَّعَ بَنُو إِسْرَائِيلَ وَخَيَّمُوا فِي الْمِصْفَاةِ. 

18 فَتَدَاوَلَ قَادَةُ إِسْرَائِيلَ فِي مَا بَيْنَهُمْ قَائِلِينَ: «مَنْ يَبْدَأْ فِي شَنِّ الْهُجُومِ عَلَى الْعَمُّونِيِّينَ، يُصْبِحْ رَئِيساً عَلَى جَمِيعِ سُكَّانِ جِلْعَادَ».

Tola and Jair

1 After Abimelech there arose to save Israel Tola the son of Puah, son of Dodo, a man of Issachar, and he lived at Shamir in the hill country of Ephraim. (Jos 24,33; Ri 2,16; Ri 10,12) 

2 And he judged Israel twenty-three years. Then he died and was buried at Shamir. 

3 After him arose Jair the Gileadite, who judged Israel twenty-two years. 

4 And he had thirty sons who rode on thirty donkeys, and they had thirty cities, called Havvoth-jair to this day, which are in the land of Gilead. (5Mo 3,14; Ri 5,10; Ri 12,14) 

5 And Jair died and was buried in Kamon. 

Further Disobedience and Oppression

6 The people of Israel again did what was evil in the sight of the Lord and served the Baals and the Ashtaroth, the gods of Syria, the gods of Sidon, the gods of Moab, the gods of the Ammonites, and the gods of the Philistines. And they forsook the Lord and did not serve him. (5Mo 31,16; Ri 2,11; Ri 2,13; Ri 10,10; Ri 10,13; 1Kön 11,5; 1Kön 11,7; 1Kön 11,33; 2Kön 23,13) 

7 So the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel, and he sold them into the hand of the Philistines and into the hand of the Ammonites, (Ri 2,14) 

8 and they crushed and oppressed the people of Israel that year. For eighteen years they oppressed all the people of Israel who were beyond the Jordan in the land of the Amorites, which is in Gilead. 

9 And the Ammonites crossed the Jordan to fight also against Judah and against Benjamin and against the house of Ephraim, so that Israel was severely distressed. 

10 And the people of Israel cried out to the Lord, saying, “We have sinned against you, because we have forsaken our God and have served the Baals.” (Ri 3,9; Ri 10,6; Ri 10,13) 

11 And the Lord said to the people of Israel, “Did I not save you from the Egyptians and from the Amorites, from the Ammonites and from the Philistines? (2Mo 14,30; 4Mo 21,21; Ri 3,13; Ri 3,31) 

12 The Sidonians also, and the Amalekites and the Maonites oppressed you, and you cried out to me, and I saved you out of their hand. (Ri 2,16; Ri 3,13; Ri 6,3) 

13 Yet you have forsaken me and served other gods; therefore I will save you no more. (5Mo 32,15; Ri 10,6; Ri 10,10; Jer 2,13) 

14 Go and cry out to the gods whom you have chosen; let them save you in the time of your distress.” (5Mo 32,37) 

15 And the people of Israel said to the Lord, “We have sinned; do to us whatever seems good to you. Only please deliver us this day.” 

16 So they put away the foreign gods from among them and served the Lord, and he became impatient over the misery of Israel. (Ri 2,18; Jes 63,9) 

17 Then the Ammonites were called to arms, and they encamped in Gilead. And the people of Israel came together, and they encamped at Mizpah. (Ri 11,11; Ri 11,29) 

18 And the people, the leaders of Gilead, said one to another, “Who is the man who will begin to fight against the Ammonites? He shall be head over all the inhabitants of Gilead.” (Ri 11,5; Ri 11,8; Ri 11,11)

4 У него было тридцать сыновей, которые ездили на тридцати ослах. У них было тридцать городов в Галааде, которые и по сегодняшний день называются Хаввот-Иаир («селения Иаира»). 

5 Когда Иаир умер, его похоронили в Камоне. 

Идолопоклонство исраильтян

6 Исраильтяне вновь стали делать зло в глазах Вечного. Они служили статуям Баала и Астарты, богам Сирии, богам Сидона, богам Моава, богам аммонитян и богам филистимлян, а Вечного оставили и не служили Ему. 

7 Вечный разгневался на Исраил и отдал их в руки филистимлян и аммонитян, 

8 которые в тот год притесняли и угнетали исраильтян. Восемнадцать лет они угнетали исраильтян на восточной стороне Иордана в Галааде, в земле аморреев. 

9 Аммонитяне тоже переправились через Иордан, чтобы воевать с Иудой, Вениамином и Ефраимом. Исраильтяне были в большой беде. 

10 Они воззвали к Вечному: – Мы согрешили против Тебя, нашего Бога, оставив Тебя и служа статуям Баала. 

11 Вечный ответил им: – Когда египтяне, аморреи, аммонитяне, филистимляне, 

12 сидоняне, амаликитяне и маонитяне угнетали вас и вы взывали ко Мне о помощи, то разве Я не спасал вас от их рук? 

13 Но вы оставили Меня и служили другим богам, и Я не стану больше спасать вас. 

14 Идите и взывайте к другим богам, которых вы избрали. Пусть они спасают вас в беде! 

15 Но исраильтяне сказали Вечному: – Мы согрешили. Сделай с нами всё, что Тебе угодно, но сегодня спаси нас! 

16 Они избавились от чужеземных богов и стали служить Вечному. И Он не мог больше видеть, как Исраил страдает. 

17 Когда аммонитяне приготовились к войне и поставили стан в Галааде, исраильтяне собрались и поставили стан в Мицпе. 

18 А вожди жителей Галаада говорили друг другу: «Всякий, кто начнёт войну с аммонитянами, будет главой всех жителей Галаада».
