Gott, gib dein Richteramt dem König, / dem Königssohn deine Gerechtigkeit,2dass er dein Volk in Gerechtigkeit richte / und helfe den Hilflosen zum Recht.3Dann tragen die Berge Frieden, / die Hügel Gerechtigkeit dem Volk.4Er soll Recht verschaffen den Gebeugten im Land, / Hilfe bringen den Kindern der Armen / und den Bedränger zermalmen.5Möge er leben, solange die Sonne bleibt / und der Mond von Geschlecht zu Geschlecht.6Er gleiche dem Regen, der auf gemähte Wiesen fällt, / dem Regenschauer, der das Land erfrischt.7In seiner Zeit blüht der Gerechte auf / und Frieden in Fülle breitet sich aus, bis kein Mond mehr ist.8Er wird herrschen von Meer zu Meer, / vom Euphrat bis zu den Enden der Erde.9Die Wüstenvölker knien vor ihm, / und seine Feinde lecken den Staub.10Die Könige von Tarschisch und den Inseln bringen Geschenke. / Die Könige von Scheba[2] und Saba[3] bringen Tribut. Есть ли знание у Высочайшего?»12Таковы нечестивые: они всегда беззаботны и умножают своё богатство.13Так не напрасно ли я хранил сердце своё в чистоте и омывал руки свои в невинности?14Каждый день я подвергался мучениям и был наказываем каждое утро.15Но если бы я решил, что буду рассуждать так, то предал бы народ Твой.16Когда я пытался всё это понять, то мне это казалось слишком трудным,17пока я не вошёл в святилище Всевышнего и не понял, какой конец ожидает нечестивых.18Истинно, на скользких путях Ты ставишь их и предаёшь их полному разрушению.19Как неожиданно они истреблены, погибают от ужаса!20Как сновидение исчезает при пробуждении, так пропадают и нечестивые, когда встаёшь Ты, Владыка.21Когда моё сердце наполняла горечь и терзалась моя душа,22я был невежествен и ничего не понимал; как неразумное животное я был пред Тобою.23И всё же я всегда с Тобою: Ты держишь меня за правую руку;24Ты руководишь мною Своим советом и потом к славе поведёшь меня.25Кто есть у меня на небесах, кроме Тебя? И на земле я ничего, кроме Тебя, не желаю.26Ослабевает моя плоть и моё сердце, но Всевышний – сила сердца моего и часть моя навсегда.27Те, кто далёк от Тебя, погибнут; Ты губишь всех, кто неверен Тебе.28А для меня благо приближаться к Всевышнему; Владыку Вечного я сделал своим убежищем.
