1 Misericórdia, ó Deus; misericórdia, pois em ti a minha alma se refugia. Eu me refugiarei à sombra das tuas asas, até que passe o perigo. 2 Clamo ao Deus Altíssimo, a Deus, que para comigo cumpre o seu propósito. 3 Dos céus ele me envia a salvação, põe em fuga os que me perseguem de perto; Pausa Deus envia o seu amor e a sua fidelidade. 4 Estou em meio a leões, ávidos para devorar; seus dentes são lanças e flechas, sua língua é espada afiada. 5 Sê exaltado, ó Deus, acima dos céus! Sobre toda a terra esteja a tua glória! 6 Preparam armadilhas para os meus pés; fiquei muito abatido. Abriram uma cova no meu caminho, mas foram eles que nela caíram. Pausa 7 Meu coração está firme, ó Deus, meu coração está firme; cantarei ao som de instrumentos! 8 Acorde, minha alma! Acordem, harpa e lira! Vou despertar a alvorada! 9 Eu te louvarei, ó Senhor, entre as nações; cantarei teus louvores entre os povos. 10 Pois o teu amor é tão grande que alcança os céus; a tua fidelidade vai até as nuvens. 11 Sê exaltado, ó Deus, acima dos céus! Sobre toda a terra esteja a tua glória!

1 To the choirmaster: according to Do Not Destroy. A Miktam[1] of David, when he fled from Saul, in the cave. Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me, for in you my soul takes refuge; in the shadow of your wings I will take refuge, till the storms of destruction pass by. (1 Sm 22:1; 1 Sm 24:1; Sl 4:1; Sl 16:1; Sl 17:8; Sl 56:1; Sl 58:1; Sl 59:1; Sl 75:1; Sl 91:4; Sl 142:1; Is 26:20) 2 I cry out to God Most High, to God who fulfills his purpose for me. (Sl 138:8) 3 He will send from heaven and save me; he will put to shame him who tramples on me. God will send out his steadfast love and his faithfulness! (Sl 18:16; Sl 36:5; Sl 40:11; Sl 43:3; Sl 56:1; Sl 144:5; Sl 144:7) 4 My soul is in the midst of lions; I lie down amid fiery beasts— the children of man, whose teeth are spears and arrows, whose tongues are sharp swords.
