1 Faze-me justiça, ó Deus, e defende a minha causa contra um povo infiel; livra-me dos homens traidores e perversos. 2 Pois tu, ó Deus, és a minha fortaleza. Por que me rejeitaste? Por que devo sair vagueando e pranteando, oprimido pelo inimigo? 3 Envia a tua luz e a tua verdade; elas me guiarão e me levarão ao teu santo monte, ao lugar onde habitas. 4 Então irei ao altar de Deus, a Deus, a fonte da minha plena alegria. Com a harpa te louvarei, ó Deus, meu Deus! 5 Por que você está assim tão triste, ó minha alma? Por que está assim tão perturbada dentro de mim? Ponha a sua esperança em Deus! Pois ainda o louvarei; ele é o meu Salvador e o meu Deus.

1 Vindicate me, O God, and defend my cause against an ungodly people, from the deceitful and unjust man deliver me! (1 Sm 24:15; Sl 5:6; Sl 7:8; Sl 26:1) 2 For you are the God in whom I take refuge; why have you rejected me? Why do I go about mourning because of the oppression of the enemy? (Sl 31:4; Sl 42:9; Sl 44:9) 3 Send out your light and your truth; let them lead me; let them bring me to your holy hill and to your dwelling! (Sl 2:6; Sl 40:11; Sl 46:4; Sl 57:3; Sl 84:1) 4 Then I will go to the altar of God, to God my exceeding joy, and I will praise you with the lyre, O God, my God. 5 Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God. (Sl 42:5; Sl 42:11)
