1 O SENHOR falou a Moisés na Tenda do Encontro, no deserto do Sinai, no primeiro dia do segundo mês do segundo ano, depois que os israelitas saíram do Egito. Ele disse: 2 “Façam um recenseamento de toda a comunidade de Israel, pelos seus clãs e famílias, alistando todos os homens, um a um, pelo nome. 3 Você e Arão contarão todos os homens que possam servir no exército, de vinte anos para cima, organizados segundo as suas divisões. 4 Um homem de cada tribo, o chefe dos grupos de famílias, deverá ajudá-los. 5 “Estes são os nomes dos homens que os ajudarão: “de Rúben, Elizur, filho de Sedeur; 6 de Simeão, Selumiel, filho de Zurisadai; 7 de Judá, Naassom, filho de Aminadabe; 8 de Issacar, Natanael, filho de Zuar; 9 de Zebulom, Eliabe, filho de Helom; 10 dos filhos de José: de Efraim, Elisama, filho de Amiúde; de Manassés, Gamaliel, filho de Pedazur; 11 de Benjamim, Abidã, filho de Gideoni; 12 de Dã, Aieser, filho de Amisadai; 13 de Aser, Pagiel, filho de Ocrã; 14 de Gade, Eliasafe, filho de Deuel; 15 de Naftali, Aira, filho de Enã”. 16 Foram esses os escolhidos da comunidade, líderes das tribos dos seus antepassados, chefes dos clãs de Israel. 17 Moisés e Arão reuniram os homens nomeados 18 e convocaram toda a comunidade no primeiro dia do segundo mês. Os homens de vinte anos para cima inscreveram-se conforme os seus clãs e as suas famílias, um a um, pelo nome, 19 conforme o SENHOR tinha ordenado a Moisés. E assim ele os contou no deserto do Sinai, na seguinte ordem: 20 Dos descendentes de Rúben, o filho mais velho de Israel: Todos os homens de vinte anos para cima que podiam servir no exército foram relacionados, cada um pelo seu nome, de acordo com os registros de seus clãs e famílias. 21 O número dos da tribo de Rúben foi 46.500. 22 Dos descendentes de Simeão: Todos os homens de vinte anos para cima que podiam servir no exército foram relacionados, cada um pelo seu nome, de acordo com os registros de seus clãs e famílias. 23 O número dos da tribo de Simeão foi 59.300. 24 Dos descendentes de Gade: Todos os homens de vinte anos para cima que podiam servir no exército foram relacionados, cada um pelo seu nome, de acordo com os registros de seus clãs e famílias. 25 O número dos da tribo de Gade foi 45.650. 26 Dos descendentes de Judá: Todos os homens de vinte anos para cima que podiam servir no exército foram relacionados, cada um pelo seu nome, de acordo com os registros de seus clãs e famílias. 27 O número dos da tribo de Judá foi 74.600. 28 Dos descendentes de Issacar: Todos os homens de vinte anos para cima que podiam servir no exército foram relacionados, cada um pelo seu nome, de acordo com os registros de seus clãs e famílias. 29 O número dos da tribo de Issacar foi 54.400. 30 Dos descendentes de Zebulom: Todos os homens de vinte anos para cima que podiam servir no exército foram relacionados, cada um pelo seu nome, de acordo com os registros de seus clãs e famílias. 31 O número dos da tribo de Zebulom foi 57.400. 32 Dos filhos de José: Dos descendentes de Efraim: Todos os homens de vinte anos para cima que podiam servir no exército foram relacionados, cada um pelo seu nome, de acordo com os registros de seus clãs e famílias. 33 O número dos da tribo de Efraim foi 40.500. 34 Dos descendentes de Manassés: Todos os homens de vinte anos para cima que podiam servir no exército foram relacionados, cada um pelo seu nome, de acordo com os registros de seus clãs e famílias. 35 O número dos da tribo de Manassés foi 32.200. 36 Dos descendentes de Benjamim: Todos os homens de vinte anos para cima que podiam servir no exército foram relacionados, cada um pelo seu nome, de acordo com os registros de seus clãs e famílias. 37 O número dos da tribo de Benjamim foi 35.400. 38 Dos descendentes de Dã: Todos os homens de vinte anos para cima que podiam servir no exército foram relacionados, cada um pelo seu nome, de acordo com os registros de seus clãs e famílias. 39 O número dos da tribo de Dã foi 62.700. 40 Dos descendentes de Aser: Todos os homens de vinte anos para cima que podiam servir no exército foram relacionados, cada um pelo seu nome, de acordo com os registros de seus clãs e famílias. 41 O número dos da tribo de Aser foi 41.500. 42 Dos descendentes de Naftali: Todos os homens de vinte anos para cima que podiam servir no exército foram relacionados, cada um pelo seu nome, de acordo com os registros de seus clãs e famílias. 43 O número dos da tribo de Naftali foi 53.400. 44 Esses foram os homens contados por Moisés e por Arão e pelos doze líderes de Israel, cada um representando a sua família. 45 Todos os israelitas de vinte anos para cima que podiam servir no exército foram contados de acordo com as suas famílias. 46 O total foi 603.550 homens. 47 As famílias da tribo de Levi, porém, não foram contadas juntamente com as outras, 48 pois o SENHOR tinha dito a Moisés: 49 “Não faça o recenseamento da tribo de Levi nem a relacione entre os demais israelitas. 50 Em vez disso, designe os levitas como responsáveis pelo tabernáculo que guarda as tábuas da aliança, por todos os seus utensílios e por tudo o que pertence a ele. Eles transportarão o tabernáculo e todos os seus utensílios; cuidarão dele e acamparão ao seu redor. 51 Sempre que o tabernáculo tiver que ser removido, os levitas o desmontarão e, sempre que tiver que ser armado, os levitas o farão. Qualquer pessoa não autorizada que se aproximar do tabernáculo terá que ser executada. 52 Os israelitas armarão as suas tendas organizadas segundo as suas divisões, cada um em seu próprio acampamento e junto à sua bandeira. 53 Os levitas, porém, armarão as suas tendas ao redor do tabernáculo que guarda as tábuas da aliança, para que a ira divina não caia sobre a comunidade de Israel. Os levitas terão a responsabilidade de cuidar do tabernáculo que guarda as tábuas da aliança”. 54 Os israelitas fizeram tudo exatamente como o SENHOR tinha ordenado a Moisés.

1 The LORD spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the tent of meeting, on the first day of the second month, in the second year after they had come out of the land of Egypt, saying, (Ex 19:1; Ex 25:22; Nm 10:11; Nm 10:12) 2 “Take a census of all the congregation of the people of Israel, by clans, by fathers’ houses, according to the number of names, every male, head by head. (Ex 30:12; Ex 38:26; Nm 1:20; Nm 1:22; Nm 3:47; Nm 26:2; 2 Sm 24:2; 1 Cr 21:2; 1 Cr 23:3; 1 Cr 23:24) 3 From twenty years old and upward, all in Israel who are able to go to war, you and Aaron shall list them, company by company. (Ex 12:51; Ex 30:14; Nm 14:29) 4 And there shall be with you a man from each tribe, each man being the head of the house of his fathers. 5 And these are the names of the men who shall assist you. From Reuben, Elizur the son of Shedeur; (Nm 7:30) 6 from Simeon, Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai; (Nm 7:36) 7 from Judah, Nahshon the son of Amminadab; (Ex 6:23) 8 from Issachar, Nethanel the son of Zuar; (Nm 7:18) 9 from Zebulun, Eliab the son of Helon; (Nm 7:24) 10 from the sons of Joseph, from Ephraim, Elishama the son of Ammihud, and from Manasseh, Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur; (Nm 7:48; Nm 7:54; 1 Cr 7:26) 11 from Benjamin, Abidan the son of Gideoni; (Nm 7:60) 12 from Dan, Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai; (Nm 7:66) 13 from Asher, Pagiel the son of Ochran; (Nm 7:72) 14 from Gad, Eliasaph the son of Deuel; (Nm 7:42) 15 from Naphtali, Ahira the son of Enan.” (Nm 7:78) 16 These were the ones chosen from the congregation, the chiefs of their ancestral tribes, the heads of the clans of Israel. (Ex 18:21; Ex 18:25; Nm 7:2; Nm 26:9; 1 Cr 27:16) 17 Moses and Aaron took these men who had been named, (1 Cr 12:31; 1 Cr 16:41; 2 Cr 28:15; 2 Cr 31:19; Ed 8:20) 18 and on the first day of the second month, they assembled the whole congregation together, who registered themselves by clans, by fathers’ houses, according to the number of names from twenty years old and upward, head by head, 19 as the LORD commanded Moses. So he listed them in the wilderness of Sinai. 20 The people of Reuben, Israel’s firstborn, their generations, by their clans, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of names, head by head, every male from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go to war: (Nm 2:3) 21 those listed of the tribe of Reuben were 46,500. (Nm 26:7) 22 Of the people of Simeon, their generations, by their clans, by their fathers’ houses, those of them who were listed, according to the number of names, head by head, every male from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go to war: 23 those listed of the tribe of Simeon were 59,300. (Nm 26:14) 24 Of the people of Gad, their generations, by their clans, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go to war: 25 those listed of the tribe of Gad were 45,650. (Nm 26:18) 26 Of the people of Judah, their generations, by their clans, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, every man able to go to war: 27 those listed of the tribe of Judah were 74,600. (Nm 26:22; 2 Sm 24:9) 28 Of the people of Issachar, their generations, by their clans, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, every man able to go to war: 29 those listed of the tribe of Issachar were 54,400. (Nm 26:25) 30 Of the people of Zebulun, their generations, by their clans, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, every man able to go to war: 31 those listed of the tribe of Zebulun were 57,400. (Nm 26:27) 32 Of the people of Joseph, namely, of the people of Ephraim, their generations, by their clans, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, every man able to go to war: 33 those listed of the tribe of Ephraim were 40,500. (Nm 26:37) 34 Of the people of Manasseh, their generations, by their clans, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, every man able to go to war: 35 those listed of the tribe of Manasseh were 32,200. (Nm 26:34) 36 Of the people of Benjamin, their generations, by their clans, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, every man able to go to war: 37 those listed of the tribe of Benjamin were 35,400. (Nm 26:41) 38 Of the people of Dan, their generations, by their clans, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, every man able to go to war: 39 those listed of the tribe of Dan were 62,700. (Nm 26:43) 40 Of the people of Asher, their generations, by their clans, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, every man able to go to war: 41 those listed of the tribe of Asher were 41,500. (Nm 26:47) 42 Of the people of Naphtali, their generations, by their clans, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, every man able to go to war: 43 those listed of the tribe of Naphtali were 53,400. (Nm 26:50) 44 These are those who were listed, whom Moses and Aaron listed with the help of the chiefs of Israel, twelve men, each representing his fathers’ house. (Nm 26:64) 45 So all those listed of the people of Israel, by their fathers’ houses, from twenty years old and upward, every man able to go to war in Israel— 46 all those listed were 603,550. (Ex 12:37; Ex 38:26) 47 But the Levites were not listed along with them by their ancestral tribe. (Nm 2:33; Nm 4:1; Nm 26:57; Nm 26:58; Nm 26:62; 1 Cr 6:1) 48 For the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, 49 “Only the tribe of Levi you shall not list, and you shall not take a census of them among the people of Israel. 50 But appoint the Levites over the tabernacle of the testimony, and over all its furnishings, and over all that belongs to it. They are to carry the tabernacle and all its furnishings, and they shall take care of it and shall camp around the tabernacle. (Ex 38:21; Nm 3:7; Nm 3:8; Nm 3:23; Nm 4:15) 51 When the tabernacle is to set out, the Levites shall take it down, and when the tabernacle is to be pitched, the Levites shall set it up. And if any outsider comes near, he shall be put to death. (Nm 3:10; Nm 3:38; Nm 10:17; Nm 10:21; Nm 18:22; 1 Sm 6:19; 2 Sm 6:6; 2 Sm 6:7; 1 Cr 13:10) 52 The people of Israel shall pitch their tents by their companies, each man in his own camp and each man by his own standard. (Nm 2:2; Nm 2:34) 53 But the Levites shall camp around the tabernacle of the testimony, so that there may be no wrath on the congregation of the people of Israel. And the Levites shall keep guard over the tabernacle of the testimony.” (Nm 3:7; Nm 3:8; Nm 3:38; Nm 8:19; Nm 8:26; Nm 9:19; Nm 9:23; Nm 16:46; Nm 18:3; Nm 18:5; Nm 31:30; Nm 31:47; 1 Cr 23:32; 2 Cr 13:11) 54 Thus did the people of Israel; they did according to all that the LORD commanded Moses.
