1Dumnezeu este cunoscut în Iuda; mare este Numele Lui în Israel!2Cortul Său este în Salem[1], Locuința Lui se află în Sion. (Gen 14:18)3Acolo a sfărâmat săgețile arcului, scutul și sabia de război. Selah4Tu ești luminos, mai măreț decât munții încărcați de pradă.5Prădați au fost vitejii: au fost cuprinși de un somn adânc. Niciunul dintre luptători n‑a mai avut putere în mâini.6La mustrarea Ta, Dumnezeul lui Iacov, călărețul și calul au adormit deopotrivă!7Tu ești de temut! Cine poate sta înaintea Ta când ești mânios?8Când ai rostit sentința din ceruri, pământul s‑a temut și a amuțit.9Da, așa a fost când Te‑ai ridicat să judeci, Dumnezeule, și să aduci izbăvire tuturor sărmanilor pământului. Selah10Într-adevăr, furia omului Te va lăuda; Te vei încinge cu rămășița furiilor.11Faceți jurăminte DOMNULUI, Dumnezeul vostru, și împliniți‑le! Voi toți cei din preajma Lui, aduceți un dar Celui de temut!12El taie avântul conducătorilor și este de temut printre regii pământului.
