1 Бог благословил Ноя и его сыновей и сказал им: – Плодитесь и размножайтесь и наполняйте землю. 2 Пусть страх и ужас перед вами охватит всех зверей земных и всех птиц небесных, всех пресмыкающихся и всех морских рыб: они отданы вам в руки. 3 Все, что живет и движется, будет вам в пищу. Как прежде Я дал вам зеленые растения, так и теперь Я отдаю вам все. 4 Но не ешьте мяса, в котором еще есть кровь. 5 И за вашу кровь Я непременно потребую расплаты; Я потребую расплаты за нее с каждого животного; и со всякого человека Я тоже потребую ответа за жизнь его ближнего. 6 Кто бы ни пролил кровь человека, рукою человека прольется и его кровь. Потому что человек создан по образу Божьему. 7 Вы же плодитесь и размножайтесь, расселяйтесь на земле и умножайтесь на ней. 8 Потом Бог сказал Ною и его сыновьям: 9 – Ныне Я заключаю завет с вами и вашими потомками, 10 и со всяким живым существом, которое было с вами, – птица ли, скот или дикий зверь – со всеми, кто вышел с вами из ковчега, и с каждым зверем на земле. 11 Я заключаю с тобой завет: никогда впредь все живое не будет истреблено водами потопа; никогда впредь не будет потоп губить землю. 12 Бог сказал: – Вот знак завета, который Я заключаю между Мной и вами, и каждым живым существом, которое с вами, на все грядущие поколения. 13 Я ставлю в облаках Мою радугу, и она будет знаком завета между Мной и землей. 14 Когда бы Я ни навел облака на землю, в облаках появится радуга, 15 и Я вспомню Мой завет между Мной и вами и каждым живым существом; никогда впредь воды не прольются потопом, чтобы погубить все живое. 16 Всякий раз, когда радуга появится в облаках, Я увижу ее и вспомню вечный завет между Богом и всеми живыми существами, какие есть на земле. 17 Так сказал Бог Ною: – Вот знак завета, который Я заключил между Мной и всем живым на земле.

Сыновья Ноя

18 Сыновья Ноя, вышедшие из ковчега, были Сим, Хам и Иафет (Хам – отец Ханаана). 19 Эти трое – сыновья Ноя, и от них произошли люди, которые рассеялись по земле. 20 Ной принялся возделывать землю и сажать виноград^[1]. 21 Однажды, выпив вина, он опьянел и лежал обнаженный в своем шатре. 22 Хам, отец Ханаана, увидел наготу своего отца и, выйдя^[2], рассказал об этом братьям. 23 Но Сим и Иафет взяли одежду, положили ее себе на плечи и, пятясь, вошли и прикрыли наготу отца. Их лица были обращены в другую сторону, чтобы им не увидеть наготы отца. 24 Когда Ной протрезвел и узнал, что сделал с ним младший сын, 25 он сказал: – Будь проклят Ханаан! Последним из рабов будет он своим братьям. 26 Еще он сказал: – Благословен Господь, Бог Сима! Да будет Ханаан рабом Сима. 27 Да расширит Бог земли Иафета^[3], да живет Иафет в шатрах Сима, и да будет Ханаан его рабом. 28 После потопа Ной жил триста пятьдесят лет. 29 Всего Ной прожил девятьсот пятьдесят лет и умер.

God makes a covenant with Noah

1 Then God blessed Noah and his sons. He said to them, ‘Have children so that there are many of you. Fill the earth. 2 All the land animals will be afraid of you. All the birds in the sky will be afraid of you. Every creature that moves along the ground will be afraid of you. So will every fish in the seas. Every living thing is put under your control. 3 Everything that lives and moves about will be food for you. I have already given you the green plants for food. Now I am giving you everything. 4 ‘But you must not eat meat that still has blood in it. 5 I will certainly hold someone accountable if you are murdered. I will even hold animals accountable if they kill you. I will also hold anyone accountable who murders another person. 6 ‘Anyone who murders a human being will be killed by a human being. That is because I have made human beings so that they are like me. 7 Have children so that there will be many of you. Multiply and become many on the earth.’ 8 Then God spoke to Noah and to his sons who were with him. He said, 9 ‘I am now making my covenant with you and with all your children who will be born after you. 10 I am making it also with every living creature that was with you in the ark. I am making my covenant with the birds, the livestock and all the wild animals. I am making it with all the creatures that came out of the ark with you. In fact, I am making it with every living thing on earth. 11 Here is my covenant I am making with you. The waters of a flood will never again destroy all life. A flood will never again destroy the earth.’ 12 God continued, ‘My covenant is between me and you and every living creature with you. It is a covenant for all time to come. Here is the sign of the covenant I am making. 13 I have put my rainbow in the clouds. It will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. 14 Sometimes when I bring clouds over the earth, a rainbow will appear in them. 15 Then I will remember my covenant between me and you and every kind of living creature. The waters will never again become a flood to destroy all life. 16 When the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it. I will remember that my covenant will last for ever. It is a covenant between me and every kind of living creature on earth.’ 17 So God said to Noah, ‘The rainbow is the sign of my covenant. I have made my covenant between me and all life on earth.’

The sons of Noah

18 The sons of Noah who came out of the ark were Shem, Ham and Japheth. Ham was the father of Canaan. 19 The people who were scattered over the earth came from Noah’s three sons. 20 Noah was a man who farmed the land. He decided to plant a field that produced grapes for making wine. 21 When he drank some of the wine, it made him drunk. Then he lay down inside his tent without any clothes on. 22 Ham saw his father naked. Then Ham, the father of Canaan, went outside and told his two brothers. 23 But Shem and Japheth picked up a piece of clothing and laid it across their shoulders. Then they walked backwards into the tent. They covered their father’s body. They turned their faces away because they didn’t want to see their father naked. 24 Then Noah woke up from his sleep that was caused by the wine. He found out what his youngest son had done to him. 25 He said, ‘May a curse be put on Canaan! He will be the lowest of slaves to his brothers.’ 26 Noah also said, ‘May the LORD, the God of Shem, be praised. May Canaan be the slave of Shem. 27 May God add land to Japheth’s territory. May Japheth live in the tents of Shem. And may Canaan be the slave of Japheth.’ 28 After the flood Noah lived 350 years. 29 Noah lived a total of 950 years. And then he died.
