Fuga di Davide a Nob e a Gat

1 Davide andò a Nob dal sacerdote Aimelec; Aimelec gli venne incontro turbato e gli disse: «Perché sei solo e non hai nessuno con te?» 2 Davide rispose al sacerdote Aimelec: «Il re mi ha dato un incarico e mi ha detto: “Nessuno sappia nulla dell’affare per cui ti mando e dell’ordine che ti ho dato”; e quanto alla mia gente, le ho detto di trovarsi in un dato luogo. 3 Ora che hai qui a portata di mano? Dammi cinque pani o quelli che si potrà trovare». 4 Il sacerdote rispose a Davide e disse: «Non ho sotto mano del pane comune, ma c’è del pane consacrato; i giovani si sono almeno astenuti da contatto con donne?» 5 Davide rispose al sacerdote: «Da quando sono partito, tre giorni fa, siamo rimasti senza donne, e quanto ai vasi della mia gente, erano puri; e se anche la nostra missione è profana, essa sarà oggi santificata da quel che si porrà nei vasi». 6 Allora il sacerdote gli diede del pane consacrato, perché non c’era là altro pane tranne quello della presentazione, che era stato tolto dalla presenza del Signore, perché fosse sostituito con pane caldo nel momento in cui veniva preso. 7 Quel giorno uno dei servi di Saul si trovava là trattenuto in presenza del Signore; si chiamava Doeg, era edomita e capo dei pastori di Saul. 8 Davide disse ad Aimelec: «Non hai qui disponibile una lancia o una spada? Perché io non ho preso con me né la mia spada né le mie armi, tanto premeva l’incarico del re». 9 Il sacerdote rispose: «C’è la spada di Goliat, il Filisteo, che tu uccidesti nella valle dei terebinti; è là avvolta in un panno dietro l’efod; se la vuoi prendere, prendila, perché qui non ce n’è altra all’infuori di questa». Davide disse: «Nessuna è pari a quella; dammela!» 10 Allora Davide si alzò, e quel giorno riprese a fuggire lontano da Saul e andò da Achis, re di Gat. 11 I servi del re dissero ad Achis: «Non è questi Davide, il re del paese? Non è egli colui del quale si cantava nelle danze: “Saul ha ucciso i suoi mille e Davide i suoi diecimila?”». 12 Davide si tenne in cuore queste parole e temette Achis, re di Gat. 13 Mutò il suo modo di fare in loro presenza, faceva il pazzo in mezzo a loro, tracciava dei segni sui battenti delle porte e si lasciava scorrere la saliva sulla barba. 14 Achis disse ai suoi servitori: «Guardate, è un pazzo. Perché me lo avete condotto? 15 Mi mancano forse dei pazzi, che mi avete condotto questo a fare il pazzo in mia presenza? Costui non entrerà in casa mia!»

2 Und als David nach Nob kam zum Priester Ahimelech, entsetzte sich Ahimelech, als er David entgegenging, und sprach zu ihm: Warum kommst du allein und ist kein Mann mit dir? (1Sam 22,9; 1Sam 22,19) 3 David sprach zu dem Priester Ahimelech: Der König hat mir eine Sache befohlen und sprach zu mir: Niemand darf auch nur das Geringste von der Sache wissen, in der ich dich gesandt habe und die ich dir befohlen habe. Darum hab ich meine Leute an den und den Ort beschieden. 4 Hast du nun etwas bei der Hand, etwa fünf Brote oder was sonst vorhanden ist, das gib mir in meine Hand. 5 Der Priester antwortete David und sprach: Ich habe kein gewöhnliches Brot bei der Hand, sondern nur heiliges Brot; nur müssen die Männer sich der Frauen enthalten haben. (Eso 19,15; Eso 25,30; Le 24,5) 6 David antwortete dem Priester und sprach zu ihm: Frauen waren uns schon etliche Tage verwehrt. Als ich auszog, war der Leib der Leute nicht unrein, obgleich es nur um ein gewöhnliches Vorhaben ging; um wie viel mehr werden sie heute am Leibe rein sein. 7 Da gab ihm der Priester von dem heiligen Brot, weil kein anderes da war als die Schaubrote, die man vor dem HERRN nur hinwegnimmt, um frisches Brot aufzulegen an dem Tage, an dem man das andere wegnimmt. (Mat 12,3; Mar 2,25; Lu 6,3) 8 Es war aber am selben Tage ein Mann von den Knechten Sauls dort eingeschlossen vor dem HERRN mit Namen Doëg, ein Edomiter, der Oberste von den Hirten Sauls. 9 Und David sprach zu Ahimelech: Ist nicht hier bei dir ein Spieß oder ein Schwert? Ich habe mein Schwert und meine Waffen nicht mit mir genommen, denn die Sache des Königs war eilig. 10 Der Priester sprach: Das Schwert des Philisters Goliat, den du im Eichgrund erschlagen hast, das ist hier, in einen Mantel gewickelt, hinter dem Efod^[1]. Willst du das, so nimm es, denn es ist kein anderes hier als dies. David sprach: Seinesgleichen gibt es nicht; gib mir’s! (Eso 28,6; Giudic 8,27; 1Sam 17,50; 1Sam 22,10)

David flieht zu König Achisch von Gat

11 Und David machte sich auf und floh an jenem Tage vor Saul und kam zu Achisch, dem König von Gat. (1Sam 27,2; Sal 56,1) 12 Aber die Knechte des Achisch sprachen zu ihm: Ist das nicht David, der König des Landes, von dem sie im Reigen sangen: Saul schlug tausend, David aber zehntausend? (1Sam 18,7) 13 Und David nahm sich diese Worte zu Herzen und fürchtete sich sehr vor Achisch, dem König von Gat. 14 Und er stellte sich vor ihnen wahnsinnig und tobte unter ihren Händen und rannte gegen die Pforte des Tores und ließ seinen Speichel in seinen Bart fließen. (Sal 34,1) 15 Da sprach Achisch zu seinen Knechten: Ihr seht ja, dass der Mann wahnsinnig ist; warum bringt ihr ihn zu mir? 16 Hab ich zu wenig Wahnsinnige, dass ihr diesen herbrachtet, bei mir zu toben? Sollte der in mein Haus kommen?

1 Then came David to Nob to Ahimelech the priest: and Ahimelech was afraid at the meeting of David, and said unto him, Why art thou alone, and no man with thee? 2 And David said unto Ahimelech the priest, The king hath commanded me a business, and hath said unto me, Let no man know any thing of the business whereabout I send thee, and what I have commanded thee: and I have appointed my servants to such and such a place. 3 Now therefore what is under thine hand? give me five loaves of bread in mine hand, or what there is present. 4 And the priest answered David, and said, There is no common bread under mine hand, but there is hallowed bread; if the young men have kept themselves at least from women. 5 And David answered the priest, and said unto him, Of a truth women have been kept from us about these three days, since I came out, and the vessels of the young men are holy, and the bread is in a manner common, yea, though it were sanctified this day in the vessel. 6 So the priest gave him hallowed bread : for there was no bread there but the shewbread, that was taken from before the LORD, to put hot bread in the day when it was taken away. 7 Now a certain man of the servants of Saul was there that day, detained before the LORD; and his name was Doeg, an Edomite, the chiefest of the herdmen that belonged to Saul. 8 And David said unto Ahimelech, And is there not here under thine hand spear or sword? for I have neither brought my sword nor my weapons with me, because the king' business required haste. 9 And the priest said, The sword of Goliath the Philistine, whom thou slewest in the valley of Elah, behold, it is here wrapped in a cloth behind the ephod: if thou wilt take that, take it : for there is no other save that here. And David said, There is none like that; give it me. 10 And David arose, and fled that day for fear of Saul, and went to Achish the king of Gath. 11 And the servants of Achish said unto him, Is not this David the king of the land? did they not sing one to another of him in dances, saying, Saul hath slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands? 12 And David laid up these words in his heart, and was sore afraid of Achish the king of Gath. 13 And he changed his behaviour before them, and feigned himself mad in their hands, and scrabbled on the doors of the gate, and let his spittle fall down upon his beard. 14 Then said Achish unto his servants, Lo, ye see the man is mad: wherefore then have ye brought him to me? 15 Have I need of mad men, that ye have brought this fellow to play the mad man in my presence? shall this fellow come into my house?

1 Cuando David llegó a Nob, fue a ver al sacerdote Ajimélec, quien al encontrarse con David se puso nervioso. —¿Por qué vienes solo? —le preguntó—. ¿Cómo es que nadie te acompaña? 2 David le respondió: —Vengo por orden del rey, pero nadie debe saber a qué me ha enviado ni cuál es esa orden. En cuanto a mis hombres, ya les he indicado dónde encontrarnos. 3 ¿Qué provisiones tienes a mano? Dame unos cinco panes, o algo más que tengas. 4 —No tengo a la mano pan común y corriente —le contestó el sacerdote—. Podría darte el pan consagrado, si es que tus hombres se han abstenido por lo menos de estar con mujeres. 5 David respondió: —Te aseguro que, como es la costumbre cuando salimos en una expedición, no hemos tenido contacto con mujeres. Además, mis hombres^[1] se consagran incluso en expediciones ordinarias, así que con más razón están consagrados ahora. 6 Por tanto, el sacerdote le entregó a David el pan consagrado, ya que no había otro. Era el pan de la Presencia que había sido quitado de delante del Señor y reemplazado por el pan caliente del día. 7 Aquel día estaba allí uno de los oficiales de Saúl, que había tenido que quedarse en el santuario del Señor. Se trataba de un edomita llamado Doeg, que era jefe de los pastores de Saúl. 8 Más tarde, David le preguntó a Ajimélec: —¿No tienes a la mano una lanza o una espada? Tan urgente era el encargo del rey que no alcancé a tomar mi espada ni mis otras armas. 9 El sacerdote respondió: —Aquí tengo la espada del filisteo Goliat, a quien mataste en el valle de Elá. Está detrás del efod, envuelta en un paño. Puedes llevártela, si quieres. Otras armas no tengo. —Dámela —dijo David—. ¡Es la mejor que podrías ofrecerme!

10 Ese mismo día David, todavía huyendo de Saúl, se dirigió a Aquis, rey de Gat. 11 Los oficiales le dijeron a Aquis: —¿No es éste David, el rey del país? ¿No es él por quien danzaban, y en los cantos decían: «Saúl destruyó a un ejército, pero David aniquiló a diez»? 12 Al oír esto, David se preocupó y tuvo mucho miedo de Aquis, rey de Gat. 13 Por lo tanto, cuando estaban por apresarlo, fingió perder la razón y, en público, comenzó a portarse como un loco, haciendo garabatos en las puertas y dejando que la saliva le corriera por la barba. 14 Aquis dijo entonces a sus oficiales: —¿Pero qué, no se fijan? ¡Ese hombre está loco! ¿Para qué me lo traen? 15 ¿Acaso me hacen falta más locos, que encima me traen a éste para hacer sus locuras en mi presencia? ¡Sáquenlo de mi palacio!
